I have many different things about inexpensive primers to wear under foundation. However, I have oily skin and need something to help keep me from getting so shiny during the day. I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations on a budget friendly mattifier. Or at the very least a recommendation on one that works so I don't waste money on ones that don't. THANK YOU!

I've tried lots of these through the years- Clinique, drugstore brands, whatever was "hot". The very best I've found is Smashbox Anti-Shine.

At $27, it's not cheap but not on the high end, either. And a tube lasts forever. Most important- it works great.

I also have oily skin, and have discovered that I can only use powder foundation. Liquid foundation makes my face look like someone threw water on me half way through the day. A great place to go is a place called The Cosmetics Company. You can usually find them at Outlet shopping centers. THey have high end make-up at a significant mark down. If you are looking to stay under $15, I have used Loreal True Match Naturale Mineral powder foundation, and pretty much anything in the Physicians Formula Mineral Wear. I haven't found any Primers that actually reduce the oil production on my face. During the day, I carry a small powder compact and retouch when I'm in the ladies room. The oil absorbing sheets by Clean & Clear work really well too. They absorb face oil, without removing your make-up like tissue does.

I do not have oily skin but I watch a lot of beauty gurus on youtube, and I've seen this one about Phillips Milk of Magnesia

I've never tried it because I don't have oily skin but maybe it's worth a shot? I would also suggest Urban Decay's De-Slick in a Tube because I've tried that once, and although I loved how small my pores looked and how smooth my skin was it dried me out too much.

There are special papers you can buy - it's a little stiffer than tissue paper - you matt your face with that and lifts the oil right off, without bringing the makeup off. I was handed a pack the day I got married, to matt the nose and forehead. Any beauty supply shop should have them.
