I need your help --I have come to trust you savvy spenders and I have a friiend who is taking a trip with me next October and she too is a savvy spender who WILL NOT spend a dime out of line. I need to convince her by way of a good itenerary (sp?) that we can to a Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party and not break the bank and not be exhausted. My friend is the frugal not so much lover of the world... whereas I am the opposite -- I will die a broke woman most likely and I love love love the world. We are taking a trip and bringing our 9 year old girls to Disney next October 2011 ... I am staying at my moms timeshare and we are driving down to Florida from Virginia. Now please, plan my 7 day stay -- keeping in mind I am staying Saturday-Saturday (ill drive down Friday night and arrive early Sat am) -- I am not intrested in Epcot so my days should be spread between AK, MK, HS and the MNSSHP... we dont do hopping fyi .. can you help me? Will you help me figure out a way not to exhaust her physically and financially?

Thanks...

IMO the after parties are not a neccesity, and if the budget is tight can be skipped. However, I do think they are worth the money. Especially if your time at the World is limited. You can go to one park during the day (maybe AK) and then spend the evening at MK. Or if you need a break day you can sleep in late and spend they day swimming, and then head to the party after dinner. I believe you can enter the park as early as 4 or 5 (I would double check that though).

I would say that the parties are more worth it if you are parade, show, and fireworks people. I've heard some reviews where the queues are really long and some reviews where the attractions are walk-ons so I wouldn't use that as a reason to go. I would also consider how late your DD's would be able to stay up. For us we won't be going to those parties for a few years yet.

I would not want to spend the money on the Halloween party--and I am in no way a frugal Frieda! Maybe your friend would agree to let you take the girls and she could relax at the resort. That way, you are not wearing her out, and she is only putting up the money for one ticket.

That is a good idea!
My suggestion was to make the morning a resort day and the party at night. That way you are well rested for the party. Sleep in the next day.

If you go to the Halloween party earlier in the month, the crowds are generally smaller. If you can afford it, I honestly think it is well worth the cost. The music, the parade, the Headless Horseman, the fireworks - it's all so much fun, and when you add candy and shorter lines for the rides, definitely worth it.
