Budget Hotel Recommendations?

Thanks for all the suggestions; keep 'em coming!

I do wonder, how many of this hotels that are close to the entrance sell out early? I looked at Best Western Plus, and there weren't any rooms available for my October dates. Since I don't turn 18 until late August, I will have to wait until then to book, which is making me a bit stressed :scared:

I liked the Priceline suggestion, but it looks like you have to be 21 to use that service. I looked into Hotwire, which you can use at 18, but I don't like that they don't tell you the specific distance from Disneyland. I want to know whether it is walkable, and if not, what the shuttle situation is.

Our go to budget option is Super 8 on Katella. Highly recommend for a budget place that is easily walkable 15 minutes and typically rates are under 100 a night.

I stayed there, and would again by myself only due to price. It was OK for the 4 hours I slept there, but I wouldn't want to "stay" there.

We stayed at the Fairfield Inn and got a great package with our flights included through expedia, where the hotel was only about $500 for 7 nights. The Fairfield Inn was a great hotel, we loved it. We are staying at the Hojo this time and with our package the hotel is $700 for 7 nights.

Maybe there was a recent incident that caused them to react that way? I would always stay alert but the surrounding area where the hotel/motels are, seem perfectly safe. I've walked it alone and with a baby in a stroller and felt very comfortable. Any place on harbor or katella close enough to walk will be fine for you to walk. If you feel nervous take the shuttle or a cab.

I had the same thought. Something must have happened recently in the area that had them spooked.

Off site, we've only stayed at the Red Lion, which we like, but is a farther walk than a lot of people seem to like to make. It's honestly less than 15 minutes to the front gates, but it does seem longer after a long day of walking in the parks. The price is also right to me for what you get and the parking lot is secure and free of people crossing through, etc.

I'm always with my husband, but we've never seen anything that made us feel unsafe on our walk down Harbor.

We stayed at the Fairfield Inm and it was very clean with refrigerators in rooms and only 5mi. Walk from the parks.

Might be a regional thing, but usually minutes is abbreviated min., no where near 5 miles from the Fairfeld.

Not sure what dates you are looking at, but Last Minute Travel Club has the Holiday Inn and Suites for $75/nite, and the Castle Inn and Suites for $91. Not sure about shuttle from HI. Both are cancelable up to 3 days prior.

Although crime can happen anywhere, I have never encountered dangerous situations walking nearby. However, one must exercise caution. I would suggest using ART rather than a young lady walking alone at night.

We stayed at the Tropicana Inn this week.
It was clean. Older, but very clean.
Felt very safe. Ask for a room near the front of the hotel so you don't have to walk as far.
We paid $119 a night. No breakfast, but a nice little market there with yummy muffins, juice etc.. Also has a yummy pizza place in it.
We got ExecuCar for $65 each way from LAX because we wanted a private van.
