I'm going to WDW with my family on Nov 29 - Dec 8 (10 days / 9 nights), and I was wondering how much should I take for expenses. Is me, my husband and three kids (6, 4 and 3 years old). Any suggestions will be so appreciated. :earsgirl: :earsboy: pirate: pirate: princess:

Hello :) My kids were 6, 4 & 2 when we went in July last year. My DH did not join us. We budgeted $500 and spent $400 over 6 days (2 were only 1/2 days). This was for food, road tolls, gas, shopping and misc. We flew to Orlando ($890), rented a van ($270) and stayed at Pop Century ($500). I had bought 3 day Park Hopper tickets before we left ($440). If my DH had joined us I would expect to spend a few hundred more on him. He isn't cheap to take on vacation

Someone once posted that they budget $100/day which is what I try to stick by. Each family has a different budget. It really depends on the type of food you want to eat and if you will be buying lots of stuff. We only ate one sit down meal and the rest was counter service or in our room (we bought snacks at Super Target).

Happy Planning :)

:wave2: Hello! I agree that it really depends on the family and your shopping/eating habits. One trick I have found that makes our trips much easier (less stressful) is letting the kids bring their own spending money. My children are all teenagers now, so our ticket and meal expenditures would be more than yours will be. I also agree that it helps to buy snacks/drinks somewhere like Target. That saves us a bundle. But I still budget between $250 - $300 per day for food/snacks. We hardly ever spend $300. I just don't rest easy unless I know I have extra if we need it. Of course, we pay adult prices for everyone in our family and that makes a huge difference. You could probably get by on half of what it takes us. :earsgirl:
