Budget Easter basket ideas for teen DDs:

Well, for the sake of clutter control I don't do actual baskets once they are past the egg-hunt stage: I use a small gift bag. As to what's in them? What I give for Easter is stuff that gets eaten or quickly used up. Candy, and perhaps some soap or lip balm, or a small gift card for food or the movie theatre. (Never more than $10). A bar of their favorite good chocolate that requires a run to the import store.

I fall back on my Catholic upbringing when it comes to choosing Easter goodies: it should be something that is indicative of a bit of self-indulgence, the kind of thing one might have given up for Lent.

My two teen dd's are each getting a Sephora gc, bathing suits (American Eagle had a great sale at $15/each) and candy. I'm really tempted to buy more stuff but am sticking to my guns this year.

My girls are all getting new pillow pets. Yes the 13-year-old still wants a pillow pet...she's getting Sully from Monster's inc. The little girls are getting a unicorn and a panda.

DD14 is getting art supplies. She loves prismacolor colored pencils and markers. They aren't very expensive on amazon. About half the price of hobby lobby.

My 15 & 17 yr olds will be getting candy and their favorite snack foods....that's it. And they'll love it :)

DDs are each getting and Alex and Ani bracelet, some socks, bubbles, a notebook they need for school and a bunch of candy. I think I went overboard on the candy, though.

For my tween girl - cute slippers and an armband holder for her phone.

For my teen son - a $10 gift card to DQ and a portable charger for his phone.

My 10 YO DD is getting an iTunes gift card, rubber bands for her Rainbow loom (she was out of a particular color), a charging cord for her iPod touch, a DVD, and a new soccer ball. This is in addition to candy.

DS 10 is getting the same, switching out Kindle/Amazon for Apple items and a stylus instead of rubber bands.

I'm just happy that it isn't even Good Friday yet and I am done shopping and loading baskets! :woohoo:

We have friends whose family is out of town. They are coming over for lunch and DD15 is organizing an egg hunt for the little ones (they are 4 and 2). DD asked for 1/2 of her Easter basket budget for stuff for the egg hunt. (I pitched in an extra $20)

In her basket she is getting a new charging cord for her iPhone, some designer collectibles that she collects and a chocolate bunny.

There were tons of great ideas on this thread. Can't wait until next year!

My kiddos are 9 & 6, this year I got them each a new beach towel and a water squirter, light on candy couple of chocolates & bubble gum:)

An idea for a teen, maybe a straw cup from Starbucks filled with the cute EOS lip gloss (looks like an egg), nail polish, & sunglasses, or any other small item:)
