Budget Doubletree "pick up" -- From Typhoon Lagoon?

We are at the World from Aug 15-28.
We have a car booked at the Budget located at DoubleTree by Downtown disney to be picked up on the 18th. We plan on being at Typhoon Lagoon that day -- and i figured i would just have them pick me up there while the family has lunch or whatnot.

Has anyone used their pick up service to be picked up at TL? Or would it be better just to take a taxi from DTD or even better walk? (Its apparently a 40 minute walk).

Bus to Old Key West, Bus from there to DTD, get off the bus on the Wolfgang Puck Express end of DTD and then it's just a 14 minute walk on Hotel Plaza Blvd.

Trouble with walking all the way from Typhoon Lagoon, is there is no sidewalks on Buena Vista Dr, so it would be dangerous, besides "Hot"

Well I have used there pick up service but from Kidani. The pick up was on time which of course you have to schedule a day ahead. I would just taxi it or Bus to DTD and walk from there. Just a note that location has never had the mini van (7 seater)I reserved. Instead I always get a upgrade(free) to premium or something. So be on guard when they ask you if you want an upgrade just say no. I have picked up there 3 times and will be again on Aug 10 cant wait.

Thanks all for the advice -- i was planning on heading over there around noonish -- so the bus to dtd is still a possibility --

looking at the maps the walk looks short but as you said -- hot and dangerous --
