Hi all! I'm somewhat new to this Disney thing.

DH and I recently got married and finally have our money together to go on our disneymoon... in 3 weeks. Obviously we're not able to stay on property because this is a budget trip.

With a budget in mind...Any tips on ways to make our honeymoon magical in a different way than a regular Disney trip? :yay:

get the buttons and get the hats! maybe make one or two ADRs, especially lunch time, at "special" or favorite places - will be just as nice, but less $$ for lunch - brown derby at DHS is cool, or maybe try to get up to cali grill, early enough to share an appetizer and cocktail or two, in the bar area, then watch the fireworks! get a photo pass and try and take a ton of pics - if you pre-pay the photopass CD (like $100?) AND have TONS of pics taken, it would be cost effective!

i know nothing is usually as cheap as off property, but they are continuing to have tons of deals on property and mid/end of august is a great time!

good luck and congrats!!!! :love:

I've been poking around for ideas for months!

Here are some things on our magic honeymoon list:

1 - wear matching shirts
2 - Bride and Groom ears!
3 - Wear Just Married Buttons
4 - Find out of the way corners for smooching (it isn't ALL about the rides!)
5 - Share meals! (budget and romantic!)
6 - Get Facepaint done - more cost effective than the other makeovers and will give you that extra sparkle!
7 - Watch Wishes fireworks from one of the beaches
8 - TOTALLY go photo pass and prepay - the $100 is easily the amount you could spend on a private photo session, and you could end up with 100s of the two of you - together and happy!
9 - Get tipsy sampling drinks around Epcot and watch the fireworks from one of the out of the way benches

Have a wonderful time :bride::love:

We did a lot of special things on our Disneymoon, but some of my favorite memories were the most simple. Taking pictures of ourselves riding Dumbo at night with our bride and groom ears on; walking around a near-empty DHS at night; hearing congratulations in different languages at Epcot (probably because we were wearing our ears AND "Just Married" pins AND matching t-shirts!); and really, just taking our time to enjoy the feeling of being on our honeymoon. When we usually go to the parks, we race around and make sure we've ridden all the rides we came to ride multiple times and catch all the shows, but on our honeymoon, we really relaxed and just enjoyed our surroundings.

We're going back to Disney for a quick anniversary trip in October, and rather than eat at several Signature restaurants like we did on our honeymoon, I'm thinking about trying to go to one of the signature restaurants and just order dessert and drinks one night at the bar/lounge area. Maybe you could try something like that to get the nice experience without having to shell out $100+ for dinner.
