Hi everybody, well my trip is all booked and paid for and as a group we decided against doing any dining plan. So now I'm looking for good but budget counter service meals.

Anybody have any favorites they are willing to share?

Some more details - the trip is 3 people, all of us are in our 20's. We are looking to spend probably $10 per person per meal tops (lunch and dinner). When I say $10 I'm looking at entree plus drink, no desserts or anything like that.

We always do DDP, so I don't recall any actual prices. I do know, however, that we ALWAYS have food left-over, even with our CS meals. Instead of buying kids meals, I would let 2-3 kids share a reg. meal. Or, let 1 adult share w/ 1 child. This way, a family of 4 only has to pay for 2 adult meals. I'm a bottled water snob, but I read all the time where dissers order tap H2O from everywhere. The water is filtered, so it must taste better than usual. Have fun! ;)

Oops...sorry! I have ADD & just finished reading your post. :upsidedow There are 3 adults, no children. Still, 2 of you could share a CS meal & all of you could order tap water?

Look at allearsnet.com for all menus and prices.
That might be helpful since you get all the items and prices etc....

Never thought about ordering just tap water, I only drink water and it's always from the tap unless I'm stopping at a gas station. That would be a big saver right there.

As for the menus, I have looked, I think I'm more just wondering what people have found to be their favorite cheaper places to eat.

Thanks for the info everyone.

I ordered kids CS meals for breakfast almost every day on my most recent trip. I don't have a huge appetite in the morning, so it worked for me. (I'm 26.) They were under $5 at the resort food courts.

You can do CS for $10 per person per meal- no worries.

I sometimes found ordering off the kid's menu was a great value-- came with an entree, 2 sides and drink.

My fiance and I used to spend about $50/day between the two of us on CS and snacks.

Our fav at AK is Pizzafari. We split a Chicken Caesar Salad ($7) and Breadsticks ($4) and get cups of ice water (we add our own crystal light to them), so lunch for two for $11, plus tax I think.

I bet for 3, you could split a pizza, chicken caesar salad and breadsticks for around $17.

We always split stuff. You can always go get more if you are still hungry, but they won't give you a refund for uneaten stuff ;)

At MK, we split the Chicken Wrap, which comes w/ fries or apples, though sometimes we got carrots. $7.50ish, alot of times we ordered and extra fries, and of course the cups of ice water. Cups of chili are pretty good here too ($3), but not sure if you like that stuff in warm weather.

Also at MK, Casey's hot dog w/ fries or apples, around $5.50. Casey's is our favorite CS, we take the food into the little back area with the bleachers and watch the old cartoons.

WPE is the best, huge portions, TS feel but CS prices

I always drink water- so unless I get a kids meal (many times it is enough for me) I just get ice water to drink. My favorite places are Columbia Harbor House- i like their fish, Flame Tree- I get the pork sandwich, China and Japan's counter services- I generally get a kids meal.

If you want a slight splurge and more food- the half a roast chicken with 2 sides is 9.99 for an adult portion in sunshine seasons- my DH and I share this often and he gets a soda (free refills) and I get tap water. My dad eats it on his own.

DH, DD2 and I split the roast chicken from Cosmic Rays at MK. Kids meals are also enough for me if I choose to get my own meal.
