I went to this restaurant for the first time yesterday and all I can say is WOW! I've never been to a restaurant like this before. Not only was there a lot of food, but it was excellent! Gene and I went back today since we had to go down that way. I love this restaurant - the food is great and it's so much fun to look around.

Has anyone else ever eaten here and what did you think?

(One is opening up near us in 3 weeks! :teeth: )

We went there for the first time early last summer.
WooHoo was the some good eats!!!
Did you try the garlic bread?? Ohhhhhhh yeahhhhhh!!:)

I love the chicken parmesan and the garlic bread. Didn't care for the salad though. The cheesecake that I got a bite of from a friend was really good too. :)

The food that we were able to eat was pretty good but they managed to serve us raw chicken & my DH had taken 2 bites before he said "this tastes funny."

My fave dish was the seafood pasta....it had lots of wonderful seafood on it.

We've only been there twice & both times the service was really lousy (& it wasn't busy.)

We probably won't return for a while.

Their food is really great but a little heavy on the garlic.
I love the Lemon Ice for desert. :)

We had a Christmas luncheon at Buca. Normally they only serve dinner, so we had the place pretty much to ourselves (50 of us).

They can not serve large groups adequately. Dinner is usually served family-style, but they brought each course out to one set of tables, asking us to wait until all the dishes were out beforing serving ourselves. The main dishes were alomst cold until everyone filled their plates. And there was just enough of the food to serve all of us. If the food would have been served over a heat-source it would have been better.

I love Buca, but will now have to get over bad memories associated with my last trip there. I was in the midst of a kidney stone attack, and it flared up big time in the middle of dinner--ended up in the emergency room (I was out of town on business). Not a good memory, but one that should not be hard to overcome. I love the Chicken Vesuvio.

Were you at the one in Livonia??? That's where we go.

I enoy Buca! Their chicken cacciatore is GREAT! and their pizza is delicious too!

There are 2 North of Us I will have to remember it stop and eat there when we go that way next month..

There opening one in Cherry HIll, right near mall on Rt. 38. That one is pretty close to me.

We had my MIL's 70th Birthday there last year!
Everyone had a wonderful time! There were about 20 of us!
Food was good!

We have one within walking distance of our house.

We've never eaten in the restaurant, but I use it for carryout occasionally. We find that it's hit or miss. The last time we ordered everything was good (except for the salad, that never seems to be good), but other times there is WAY too much garlic.
The chicken parm has been pretty consistent, and so are the basic pastas. Be careful if you order anything with sausage...it is very hot!

I can't wait to try it. They are building one a few miles down the road from me. We definitely lack good italian restaurants here in Jax.

garlis is good though!!!

We LOVE Buca! There are quite a few Buca's here in Minneapolis.

Love the Macaroni Rosa, the pizza, chicken parmesan, garlic mashed potatoes, salad, cheesecake, lemon ice, house wine...we love everything about Buca.

It's a fun place to celebrate special occasions too :) We have never had bad service or bad food. Maybe you all need to come to the Mpls. ones!

we have two here and they're both great. the one downtown has the infamous "pope" room and i somehow end up eating in there a lot. :p

We had a large business dinner at one in Kansas City. OMG the portions were HUUUUGGGGEEE:eek: I know people say that about many restaurants but I'm talking HUUUUUGGGGEEE:earseek: It was good though. Did I mention the portions were more than adequate?;)

we had a birthday celebration at the pope's table
kinda neat - you have to reserve it ahead of time.
I love their macaroni rosa
DH loves their linguini w/red claim sauce
those meatballs are the size of softballs
the garlic bread with cheese is like a pizza without sauce
and so delicious
