I've been to the one in the Mall of America and I believe they use Run Bubba Run and Stop Bubba Stop license plates. Using the stop, means that any one on staff, including the management, will stop and find out what you need. We found this very seemless service as we could place a drink or food order with the person who stopped and our server would later arrive with it.

the "go/stop" method with the signs to alert the server you need something is a good idea....as this seems to be a complaint with almost everyone at one point or another....as soon as you need something, your server disappears! Hoping to try it!

We are SO going to add this to our trip in September/October, woo hoo! The menu is great and made me smile - Forrest Gump is one of our favourite movies

I've read about Hush Puppies for years and years and have never had them, i'm going to order them for sure! Thanks for the tip!

Do they take reservations?

All of the Citywalk restaurants take reservations but not after 5:00 PM. After 5:00 PM it is walk up only for all the restaurants except for Emerils. I'm assuming the same will apply to Bubba Gumps but you are asking about a restaurant that hasn't even opened yet at Universal so none of us can answer that question.

We ate at this restaurant twice in NYC last year. I've been very excited about going again in January since I heard about the opening on Citywalk. I can obviously only go off the NYC restaurant but:

* in the queue waiting for our table the server wandered up and down the line asking trivia questions from the film. Was a good way to pass the time
* also in the queue area, a large TV was showing the film to watch while you wait
* The servers were great and attentive - the red / green signs made the service even better
* both times we just had a main course - and we were stuffed. The stuffed shrimp is amazing, I can't wait to order it again!

i went to bubba gump's in hawaii. we loved it. the food was great and the desserts were awesome and huge. i love the signs also. ours said "run, forrest run" and "stop forest." the best thing was that stop sign. at the location we visited in hawaii, it didn't matter who your waiter/waitress was, when the sign said stop, anyone passing had to stop. we were never wanting for anything.
