BTMRR Refurb date firm?

Hi all -- We will be arriving on 8/7 for a stay. Big Thunder Mountain is a high value for us. It looks like it is scheduled to go down for refurb on the 8th. Is that a firm date? And closed at the start of the day or the end?

BTMRR will have normal operating hours for 8/7/2016.

It will be closed from 8/8 - 11/18/2016.

The information posted above is the "best" available information. But one should always be careful not to use the word "firm" when it comes to WDW refurbs, (or openings). This is at least the second "firm" date for the BTMRR refurb.

our trip is 11/12 - 11/19. the 19th we have a later flight and plan to spend the morning at EPCOT.

do refurbs ever end early? my 6 year old niece was too small last trip and really wants to ride this time.

We were too...we traditionally get a family picture on Dinosaur and it's not going to happen this time

When they first announced the refurb, I was excited, as it was scheduled to be done before our visit in August, then . . .. they pushed it back, so now it is scheduled to close 4 days before we get there. BUMMER. Ah well, I guess we have something to look forward to next year . .. Oh, wait, we can look forward to ROL which was also supposed to be open before our trip this year lol.

Us, three - and it is DS9's hands-down favorite ride. So, I'm hoping for a little Disney magic!

Maybe you could bring a plastic dinosaur - stand in front of where the ride is and have someone take a picture of you using perspective so it looks like the dinosaur is eating your family.

Same here. We booked our trip based on previous refurb dates and then they moved the refurb dates. We cannot move our trip dates so we will just miss it this time around. So sad b/c it is a fav for us too.

So as of right now, BTM will still be closed on Nov. 18 and opening on the 19th, correct? We have a MK day planned the 18th and was hoping it would be open on the 18th... We are also going to MK on the 20th, so will hope to get a ride then!
