BTMR question

I noticed in one of the "show your Disney side" commercials that are in heavy rotation right now that a mom, dad and son are all riding BTMR together in the same seat. Is this actually possible to do? I always thought it was two to a seat. If it is possible that would be awesome. I figured this is just for show for the commercial though. My DS5 LOVES trains and can't wait for this ride when we go "one day" (aka June...it's a surprise). My DH and I go back and forth about who gets to ride it with him for his first time and this would solve that problem.

The 3 of us fit in one car. It was tight, but doable. 3 1/2 and my husband is 6 ft 3. So yeah it was tight. But we managed.

If the adults are small-average size and the child is small, it would be possible.

DH and I rode BTMR twice on our last trip and we definitely could have fit a small kid in with us. For reference, I am 5'3/125 lbs and DH is 5'5/140 lbs.

Allowed. Not really comfortable for us,,,,two average size adults and one skinny kid. It's more fun however to ride together and it's only a few minutes of being squished!

We had no problem doing it until my son turned 11...please let him know that this isn't an ordinary train ride, though!

My sister, BIL (both are trim/fit), and my 5 year old niece fit in the same seat.

Thanks so much all! I'm even more excited now. My DH and I are both average size so this shouldn't be an issue.

My DS knows it's not a normal train :) He has seen a video of it on YouTube. He knows about all the trains at WDW and tells me so very often. :) If only Thomas was a Disney character then my son could get everything in one place.

We fit three a few years ago! Also - my daughter loved getting to be the guest conductor on the regular train, and still smiles at the commemorative ID card they gave her after … Hope they still do that when you visit - your son should ask at the station if he is interested.

We did it with two adult women and on the small side my 4 year old and fit comfortably with room to spare.

My son loves trains. Took him at about 4 yo and he was just tall enough to ride. We ended up riding it 18 times over the course of the trip. Be prepared for this being possibly the biggest deal ever for him.

You need to pop into some of those FP+ threads where people keep posting they don't understand why anyone would need to do a ride more than once per trip! :rotfl:
