The cast: just me and my dh, Greg. (me 50'ish, him late 40's). Newlyweds, just married April 1, 2001.
This turned out to be our most "funnest" day!
When we got up the temperature was (according to the weather channel) about 44 degrees, but the WIND CHILL (not a term usually used in Florida) was 39 degrees!!! brrrrr
We got up, ate croissant breakfast sandwiches in the food court, and took the bus to MGM. We rode TOT (my personal favorite) (only once this time), then wandered over to Who Wants To be a Millionaire (Play It), and waited for the next show. First another Greg made it to the hot seat, and for the next game, MY GREG GOT THE HOT SEAT (YAY!!!). He actually made it just past the 64,000 level (only 4 more questions and we would've had a cruise). But he got the hat, the fabulous polo shirt (not just a t-shirt) 10 pins and a lanyard!! OK, besides Bruce, that now made our trip worth while!!!!
Went back to the room after that, changed, put warmer clothes on for the evening and returned to EPCOT where we ate at Akershus (DH's personal fav). Then we wandered over to the International Gateway and took the boat to MGM. As Annual Passholders, there was a special "sneak preview" of the Osborne Family Light Spectacular at MGM. We got FREE hot chocolate, FREE Christmas cookies and, of course, FREE 3-d glasses to look at the lights with. (Can you believe all this Disney free stuff we're getting??????) The lights really were spectacular, there was "snow", Christmas carols, and with the actual cold weather, we were totally in the mood for all the holiday cheer!!!
THEN, we left MGM and waited outside the gates with a group of people. The space shuttle Endeavor was scheduled to take off that night and the boat driver CM's kept telling us that if we looked, we WOULD see it and WOW, did we!!!! It was AMAZING!!!
The horizon actually lit up and you could see the flaming tail, and 2 minutes into it you could see the rockets separate. What a great experience. We were so surprised at how well we could see it.
AFTER ALL THIS EXCITEMENT, WE WERE TUCKERED OUT AND TOOK THE BUS BACK TO PO-R!
