Brunch at Chef Mickey's or 1900 Park Fare?

So on the day we are thinking of doing MVMCP (Sun Dec 17), I am planning a late brunch before heading over to the party, so we only need snacks while at the party. I had been thinking Chef Mickey's, but now I'm wondering if 1900 Park Fare would be better? I know for Breakfast it's Mary Poppins and crew, and dinner it's Cinderella - is it still Mary Poppins for brunch (either is fine, I'd just kinda like to know). Any stong opinions on the better of these two options?

1900 Park Fare has breakfast until 11:50 (time of last seating). It's classic British characters, so Alice, Mad Hatter, Mary Poppins and Pooh & Tigger.

Dinner is Cinderella, the step sisters, Lady Termaine and Prince Charming.

I'm just in the planning phase, so I have no opinions on which is better.

Hmmm...are you sure there isn't brunch some days? It mentions brunch on the menu page for it, and checking on a random Sunday, it had 2:15 times. So I assumed that was brunch....

Hmmm..checked more Sundays, and it wasn't there. I wonder what the deal is with when they run the brunch? Anyone know?

I think Chef M's does the brunch only during the busiest times of the year.

I have never had breakfast at Chef M's. Dinner several times and lunch once. The desserts were really stripped down through the years to the point where I was really disappointed by them last time we were there. Characters were always great at Chef M's. If your kids are outgoing and high energy, it's a better choice IMO.

1900 Park Fare is my favorite Disney breakfast. The food, atmosphere, characters and service were all outstanding every time we've gone. They have a chef's station making fresh omelettes or eggs. Strawberry soup is heavenly, eggs Benedict, and a bagel bar with smoked salmon and all the trimmings. The characters are more low key. It's Pooh, Tigger, Mary Poppins in her white and red dress, Alice and the Mad Hatter who is a hoot. If your kids find characters scary or they're shy, this group would be better for them IMO.

Hope you have a great time wherever you pick. :)

Thanks for the reply! I think part of my decision will be seeing if either actually offer brunch the day we are looking at! :)

Chef Mickey's seems to be offering brunch all the time now. It's from 11:30 - 2:30. We have a brunch booked for September. I figure something from one of the meals has to taste good. We love the Fab 5 in their chef costumes.

1900 PF has much better food. Not even close.

We also had better character interaction at 1900 PF. Again not even close.

I'd only choose chef mickey if meeting those characters is a priority and you wouldn't see them otherwise.

It pains me to say this, because we absolutely love 1900 PF, but if I were you I'd choose Chef Mickey's.

If you are using the meal as a substitute for eating a full meal later at the party, and getting by on just eating snacks, then you'll probably want to eat the brunch as late as you can so you're not ravenous by 9pm.

CM's brunch stays open almost 3 hours past 1900s, you could make the last available reservation for brunch at CM and be done eating around 3:30pm-4pm. I've never eaten that late at any buffet, but I'm assuming if they say brunch till 2:30pm, that means that's when they'll let the last person in, but if you're in there you can take your time and enjoy the food until you're finished.

And I'm also assuming you're not using up a park ticket for the hour or so before the party people are let in at MK, so you could eat a late brunch at CM, kill a little time looking at the Frozen IASW Christmas stuff, and then walk from the Contemporary to MK and be just in time for the early entry for the party at 4pm.

Have a great time! Enjoy the party!

1900 Park Fare! It's so much fun, so pretty and great characters! I liked the food better there too.
