Hello Ladies,

Its me again with another question...

DF and I are having our escape wedding @ 10:00am @ SBP. We want to make sure we aren't waiting around and/or wasting a day which is why we picked the 10am slot. We also want to make sure we're in the parks by 2!! :rotfl2: Anyway as much as i want to get into the parks i do really want to wear my dress as long as possible. :lovestruc I was thinking of having a brunch after our wedding (mickey waffles are a must) at one of the resorts so that i can still wear my gown.

Where did you all go for brunch? What are my options as an escape bride? And how much $$ dough did it cost you? (if you dont mind me asking)

Thanks again for all your help girls!! :grouphug:

I don't know about cost. but you could look at maybe renting the St.James Room at the boardwalk. It's a room with a patio like the Whitehall room.

Lurkyloo used The Attic for her Wishes brunch but the min is kinda high at the attic for a small wedding.

Cape May Cafe is on the "recommended" restaurant reservation list my planner sent. It is really close to SBP, and will not take as long as catering, so you can get to the parks quickly!!

oh, and I beleive they serve mickey waffles ;)

I think Cape May stops booking at 10:30am so it might be tough with a 10am ceremony and cake to make it there in time. But Cape May is fun since Minnie, Goofy, and Donald are there.

Or you could do a private event at the Flying Fish using the brunch menu Disney provides.

I wonder how much it would be to rent out the st. james room. :scratchin That might be an awesome idea if its in the budget! I mean how expensive can brunch be?? I'll definatly email my planner! Thanks!

We did a breakfast at Cape May in 2007 and I loved it!! I'm just worried it might not be easy for me to get around in my gown at the buffet area. I definatly don't want to be knocking children over with my massive bustle! :scared::rotfl: But thats definatly something i'll ask my planner about too!!

Never even thought of that! Before we decided on the 10am wedding we were thinking of having dinner there.... i didn't know they could do a brunch! :yay:

The Flying Fish isn't open at all. You would have the entire place to yourself for 2 hours. Disney Catering Services has a brunch menu you could use. The food and beverage minimum is $1000 (currently). You could have the location from 11:30 am to 1:30pm since you are doing a 10 am ceremony. HTH :goodvibes

I believe reading from another post the food and beverage minimum for the St. James Room is $685. For the Attic $2000-$2500 was the price range for F & B.
HTH. :goodvibes

always such great advice!

You're welcome. I am doing this. It saves on transportation costs. Everyone can just walk! :thumbsup2

If you want pictures of the Flying Fish, here is a thread I had started and Lurkyloo posted: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2188306

I just spoke to DF about this and he is pushing for the flying fish idea. Would you mind PMing me all the info? Are you doing a brunch or a lunch because i'm wondering which we should do now. I'm so confused at to what i'm doing! :rotfl2:

Thanks! Glad I can finally give some input as much as I have learned on the Boards. :thumbsup2

I am doing a brunch because I love breakfast food and my Husband wants lunch/dinner type of food. You can do whatever you want as far as food is concerned since Disney Catering has many menus to choose from. I am also having a Caricature Artist come to Flying Fish...that is one of the favors I am giving out. I am using www.cartoonyou.net

Feel free to PM me. :goodvibes

Do you know the times available for the flying fish? Would I be able to use it with a noon wedding??

Thanks:banana:

It may be available for a noon wedding. The Flying Fish is available when it's closed to the public. They only serve dinner there so you should be OK. Check to see when they open for Dinner. Your event would have to at least be done 1-2 hours before they open for dinner.

HTH! Good Luck.

I am wondering where to go since we only have six people (including us). We have a 10am ceremony at SP, and I'm not sure where we should go afterwards to eat. I don't particularly need to eat in my dress. Any good suggestions either in or out of the parks?

We are having a 10am wedding at SBP and are having dinner at WCC at the WL at 7pm that night. We are going to change out of our wedding stuff and wear our "Just Married" t-shirts to MK before dinner.

I'm also looking to do a brunch! We're getting married at the Wedding Pavilion, so any other suggestions for places along the monorail would be so helpful!!!!

Yeah for Mickey waffles!
