I did a raft race on Sunday, i ended up in the river and going under the raft, which doesn't really bother me but now my legs are extremely bruised!! I bruise easily, but as people are kindly putting it they 'omg they look terrible', 'you look like you've been to war' etc etc. They are also very painful when i walk, appart from ibrufen gel etc anybody got any remedies as the pain is a nightmare. It's from the knees to the ankles completley bruised both legs.

oh you poor thing ! i can't help with any medical advice

 hope you are better soon x x

Sorry to hear you are in so much pain Emily. I have it in the back of my mind that Witch Hazel is a good treament for bruising, it might be worth googling it. Hope you feel better soon :)

I second that :)

Arnica cream :thumbsup2
I apply it regularly to my DD's knees and shins (actually most nights after her bath) she likes playing football with the boys at school and is always covered in bruises. One thing I would say, it's best to get it on as quickly as possible - maybe you should get some for the future. I get it from Boots:thumbsup2

Ooooh Hope you feel better soon:flower3: , I have heard that Arnica gel is good for all sorts but havent actually used it myself:hug:

Thank you for the advice....things are looking rather worse at the moment and their colours that haven't even got a name appearing on my legs! Everyone at work was in complete shock when i showed them and im feeling rather sore at the moment...lets just hope they fade...i wanna wear my new cropped trousers!!!

poor Em, arnica is meant to be very good, maybe some lavendar and chamomile mixed in some carrier oil, it won't reduce the brusing but it may help with the pain x

Another one here who swears by arnica. :thumbsup2

I have never tried the tablets but have a massive tub of the gel in the house as I am constantly clumsy and bumping into things and bruising myself. It is made by SBC and I get it off QVC if they ever have it on sale.

im always covered in bruises, never thought about looking for something to put on them. might investigate as i bruise very easily.x

Emily are you feeling any better now?

I'm not too bad thanks....as some of you know i've had alot of problems with my toe and feet anyway. So today i went to see the surgeon and after many MANY x-rays etc they think they know whats wrong so hopefully will be having an operation in early June to fix my toe, but this week i'll also be having my calf muscle released in a smaller operation. So probably more bruises will appear...o well...no swimming for awhile!!

Just a note, take some arnica tablets before your operation and they may help with bruising immediatey after the op.
