Brug in Bloom

Wow, very large and pretty! I didn't know what a brug was, thank you for showing it off!

Bobbi:D

Angela, Angela, Angela!! :sunny:

How nice to see you!! :flower3:

I had a look at Charles earlier. A very healthy, robust looking specimen!! ::yes::

I tried to check him out again, but I keep getting ' The connection was refused when attempting to contact www.wdwinfo.com.'

I've been refused!!! :scratchin :D

I'm so glad you like it, Bobbi! Thanks! :D

Hey there, Snowwark!! It's great to see you, too! :bounce:
How dare they refuse you! Does Pete know about this? ;)

Wow! Thanks for posting your pictures. I wasn't sure what a brug was either - now I know!

Very pretty, I didn't know what a brug was either, but I sure like them.

Your Brug is Beautiful & Huge Congratulations!
I wasn't sure I knew what a Brug was either until I saw your pic. Thank you, now I know.
I would love to grow one but it looks like too much of a challenge for me.

Thank you each and every one for the very sweet comments!

Brugs are really easy to tend, once they are very well rooted. I lost many plants including brugs due to Ivan, but that of course is not the norm. High winds and large doses of salt spray can snap and kill anything.
Brugs will take much neglect once established, but will also take so much food and water that one would think she had planted in a sieve.
They pout by dropping leaves and buds, when they don't get enough water. When they get too hot, then they droop. They are quite temperamental to be sure, so I consider them to be very similar to a willful puppy. They have an amazing ability to "just get over it" as well, however, without holding any grudges. ;)

Those are so great!:sunny: :sunny:

I have been searching for a couple of those to add to my garden since we moved here, with no luck. Maybe they will show up at Home Depot or Lowe's one day, since I can't find a decent nursery/garden center anywhere!

sorcerormickey, If you'll PM me with a name and address, I'll see if I can't send you a "spare". ;) I stuck (if I remember correctly) a CG limb beside my AC unit, a while back. He has rooted and grown a bit, but probably is not woody enough to withstand my winter low temps.

Hi Barbara!! I would love a peach cutting next spring, if the offer is still good. I'm afraid to start one now, with the cold approaching. I'm in zone 8b, and it can get quite cold for brugs.
My family and home withstood Ivan without a shingle missing, thank goodness. My plants suffered, but I am so grateful that those were our only losses. We know how lucky we were. :D
