Brrrrr! Slacks at Victoria and Alberts OK?

Posting live from BLT which is fabulous. What is not fab is the cool temps here. We are dining in the main dining room at V & A's tonight and I am planning on wearing black slacks, fancy top, black jaacket and dressy heels (taking black cashmere pashmina just in case it's chilly). Is this ok?

Hubby is of course wearing jacket and tie.

I have always worn a cocktail dress to V & A's but the weather here is not the typical weather I am used to since we usually come in the fall. Havin na great time though and looking forward to celebrating our 29th anniversary tonight! Just concerned about the slacks versus the cocktail dress. Thanks!!

It's just fine. We've dined at V&A a number of times in January and I've always worn a dressy pantsuit.

BTW, the tie is optional for your DH.

Absolutely fine, I've worn pants suits there at least 3 times. There is no "you must wear a dress" rule.

Seeing as one of the ladies I saw go in wore what I feel was the equivalent of a cotton nightgown, what you describe sounds perfect for dining at V&A.

I see no problem with dressy pants outfits.
