Brown Derby

HBD was by far the best meal we had on our last trip. We think it compares favorably with the other signature's. As with all restaurants, a lot depends on what you order I'm sure.

We had lunch there last month & I'd rate it ok to good. Everyone raves about the atmosphere - while the decor was beautiful & interesting, the place was LOUD! Our service was good but not great, food was good but not worth 2 TS credits in my opinion. Here are pics of the Cobb Salad & the grapefruit cake (I agree it was dry!)

You have to go at least once to say you did it!

That looks YUMMY!!!! Don't worry I'll be taking all kinds of pictures when we go too.

We love it... if you want to see my review from last month click on the second link in my signature. I'm sure there's a review from the year before in the other link too if you want to go back further (but I know I ordered the same thing for myself!!!)

I will definitely take a look..actually looked at the Arkershus or however you spell it..We're going there too..and since I'm of Norwegian (Danish) hey it's pretty darn close :) I want to go there!!!

the Brown Derby was good.

I got the noodle bowl. It was really good. Just make sure that when if you order it, you specifically know what curry is, because I didn't... and I near burned my poor mouth. It was a little spicier than I expected! Thank mouse I had a pina colada to cool it down :)

I love the noodle bowl. So good. I didn't find it spicy, but it does have a red curry broth. My mom loves the cobb salad and gets it every time she goes.

We ate at the Brown Derby in Oct. 2008 and loved it. Our server was wonderful! She was very attentive, without hovering or being annoying, and we were allowed to linger over dessert and tea without feeling rushed. We each ordered an appetizer (I had the scallop and my DP had the raviolo), and we split an entree (salmon) and dessert (the banana tower). The food was very good, but to be honest, it was the service that put it on our "must-do" list for our next trip.

We went (DD was 6) 3 yrs ago. It was really good but she didn't like it. I had steak and mashed and some kind of veggies. It was perfect! She thought the food was "weird". She's a very plain eater.

We make reservations at the BD every time we're at Disney, and the meals and service have always been the best! I love the grouper (nice, light white fish) and the Cobb salad. The desserts are always spectacular. We always request one of the semi-circular leather booths along the side. Wonderful atmosphere! Hope you have a great time! pixiedust:

We ate at the Brown Derby twice---both times were amazing. I think it's the best restaurant in WDW!

We've been there on two different trips to WDW. Highly recommend the restaurant based on both meals. The Cobb Salad is excellent.

We were there in Dec. The food and service were great! I wasn't
impressed with the grapefruit cake, though. Set aside a lot of time to
eat because we were there for a couple of hours. It was just DH and myself,
so we were not in a hurry. Have fun!

Great restaurant, ask for the Bamboo Room if it's available (thanks to this board I got that tip).

Enjoy it!!

This is my favorite place in all of WDW! I love love love the crab cake appetizer, it is the best ever! The steak entree and the fish entrees are great too! I love the pistachio cheesecake! We have always had great service and have gotten fantastic recomendations for servers when we want to try something different. You will love the Brown Derby! Also I would recommend the 2nd floor. There are less tables up there so it is more quiet, and you get a great view of the whole place.

:ssst: Don't give away our secret. ;)

This is the 1st I've heard of a 2nd floor. Do tell? :listen: We may try that next time.

We were just there and it was one of our favorite meals of the entire trip! Both of us left very happy. You really won't be disappointed.

are the Bamboo Room and the second floor the same? I'll be there by myself in March and would enjoy being out of the way.

I used to be a hostess at the BD. And I always recommend it.

Someone mentioned the Bamboo Room which may be what we called the Garden Room. It's a separate room off the patio and overlooks the courtyard by Starring Rolls.

I have not heard of a dining area on the second floor. There used to be a lounge up there called The Catwalk but they closed that when Playhouse Disney took over the space that used to be the Soundstage Restaurant.

So tell us--what do you order when you go? What the best alcoholic drink too?
