Now that we have our ADR's has anyone been to the Brown Derby? We're going one of the nights, can't remember which. But wanted your input :)

Thanks in advance

I haven't been-interested in the replies. But I've heard the Cobb salad can't be beat!

We like HBD. We've eaten there twice and had good experiences both times. The food is pretty good and the atmosphere is nice. The Cobb Salad is a great appetizer - one of their signatures. The grapefruit cake is their signature dessert and was a little on the dry side, but good nonetheless.

I've seen the Grapefruit Cake on Food Network and OMG!!! that looks soooo good!! The Brown Derby is one of the restaurants we didn't get to last time I was there.

My DH and I ate there this past December and both had the steak. It was really good! I would not order the grapefruit cake again though ... To dry! I like a moist cake and was envious of hubbies chocolate dessert (can't remember exactly what the name was). We went there as a couple while the parents took our kids to Primetime but there were plenty of children dining as well. Enjoy!

the Brown Derby was good.

I got the noodle bowl. It was really good. Just make sure that when if you order it, you specifically know what curry is, because I didn't... and I near burned my poor mouth. It was a little spicier than I expected! Thank mouse I had a pina colada to cool it down :)

I thought it was good but not worth 2 tb credits if your on the dinning plan.
I think it's a lil overpriced for a park resturant. Ex: It's no better than LC or Coral Reef . It was years ago since I went. Just my opinion.

We where there for lunch in Oct . Its the best rest. at DHS.

I've eaten at the brown derby twice. Sat at the exact same table, by coincidence each time. Food was great and service was great. The Cobb salad is great, the serving size is listed for two but you may request a serving for one they might accomodate you. They did for me.

Here is some pictures of the food.

We ate there on our last trip and it was AMAZING- best meal of our trip. I have a full review in my trip report in my siggie with some pictures. It was really good and the service was great. We don't do the dining plan, but we found it great!

We've eaten here probably half a dozen times. Although I think it's our least favorite signature restaurant, it's the best place in DHS for dinner if you are going to be in the park anyway.

MY DH and I eat at the Brown Derby for lunch or for dinner every time we go to Hollywood Studios which is about twice a year. In my humble opinion, it is the best restaurant at Hollywood Studios. I always have the Cremini Mushroom Chevre Raviolo and or the Blue Jumbo Lump Crab Cake with Potato Crust - they are too die for.

Ive eaten there twice it is dfi favorite place to eat. I always get the chicken with cranberry and it is wonderful. We've been there once for lunch and it wa sjust as good. Make sure u get the grapefruit cake if you go! THey'll even give you the recipe if u want!

We finally got reservations for this next week and I'm so excited. I've always wanted to eat there. I wonder why the grapefruit cake is so dry when it has been so much talked about on tv and such? I wanted to try it when we go. The cheesecake looks great too from pics on here.

When I saw how the grapefruit cake was made AND the dried slice of grapefruit sold me :)

And yes I can't wait

We loved Brown Derby. I had the Oyster & Brie Soup and the mussels appetizer, D had the steak. And the grapefruit cake. All the food was delicious! We couldn't finish the grapefruit cake, so we took some back - D had it for a late night snack.

We also had a wonderful waiter. D tasted my soup, really liked it, and the waiter brought her a small cup of the soup (sans oysters) for her, set it down without saying anything and then took off! Attentive, but not intrusive.

Next time, I'll go back again (maybe with the Fantasmic package)!

Thanks for the input. This is one place I'm looking forward to trying. And I'm sure it's worth 2 table credits :)

DH and I went for lunch six years ago and we didn't care for it. The service was terrible (and there were only five or six tables occupied in the whole place); my food was sent back twice and the rest of the food was medicore at best. My DH who LOVES his desserts detested the grapefruit cake. We always give each place two tries before we write it off, but we've yet to go back to Derby--just don't want to use two table service credits on it when there are so many places at Disney that we really enjoy and where we have great or excellent service.
