I want to do the fantasmic package and am wondering which of these restaurants is best. I wanted to do H&V but they dont have characters until dinner time and I dont know how close to the show it will be. Keep in mind I have two small children age 4 nd 2

thanks

I still think H&V would be the better choice for kids. Brown Derby is a bit fancy and not worth the extra money IMO.

Be sure to check out the menus. It's been a few years since we ate there, but H/V is the first time I've done a Disney buffet and had a hard time finding something to eat that I liked.

But do be aware BD takes 2 credits if you're using the dining plan.

Brown Derby hands down if you care about the food.

I didn't like either one. We did BD in 2007 and we had terrible service and we were not impressed with the food; we gave Hollywood & Vine two chances and wish we had stopped after the first (H&V is the only restaurant besides WCC that we will never go to again). Have you considered Mama Melrose? If it is between just the two, I'd have to say BD as the food was at least more edible than the food at H&V.

We enjoyed Mama Melrose as well.

OT Kat Mark Where is the 60 degrees Tom Skilling promised us? :confused3

I'd like to know too...a little chillier than I was expecting. Hope it is better tomorrow to decorate the outside of the house.

Happy Thanksgiving. :)

Me too. Not too far away. We're in Glen Ellyn.

We have never been to either BD or HWV but have always eaten at Mama Melrose. We have always enjoyed MM and the service has always been very good. While the food is not gourmet, it is very good and we have never had a bad meal. So my vote would be MM.

Also, for all you IL people.....Elmurst here and as I write this the temps are slowly falling and we have a fine drizzle and this is just the start of it all!! I am glad that we have reservations for the end of March.....the light at the end of the winter tunnel. I can't wait.
