Just wondering if the Brown Derby in MGM and Alfredo (WS Italy) in Epcot are good choices for lunch for a family of four with two pre-teen kids? My wife and I are interested in trying something a bit more daring at Epcot (Akershus/Norway or Chefs/France) but after reviewing the menues the kids voted for pasta at Alfredo. So we thought we would select the BD for our lunch at MGM. Mom and dad are flexible and so is our son, but our daughter is fairly picky and we want to be sure she has enough to eat at both places. Do these seem to be decent choices? Thanks!

BD is our favorite place & we like it better for lunch so that well be a good choice. Italy gets alot of bad reviews, the food was very good & the service was also. I think it is like the Nine dragons everyone has a good & cheap Italian & Chinese place around where they live, so eating at these places just seem very costly.

I think you should let your kids help pick that way if thay do not like it, it was their choice. Also eating at counter service places in Epcot is a great way to try new foods. The one in Morrocco is great & getting desserts in France is good for eating while waiting for the night time show.

We love BD. We've only been there for dinner, but always find planty of thengs to eat-- and we have a VERY picky family. Remember that you can also order off of the kids menu in addition to the regular one.

Keep in mind that just about anywhere on property will be happy to make you a grilled cheese or a peanut butter and jelly sandwich rather it is on the menu or not.

I've never eaten at Norway but had always wanted to try Chefs de France. After five years of begging, I convinced my friend to go with me. They were very accomodating to make her sirloin "plain" and to just have a baked potato instead of their fancier option. When I went with my husband last year he wanted chicken without it being smothered in the sauce and again they were very accomodating so I wouldn't be afraid to try some new places and just adapt their menu to suit the pickier members of the family.

Also you can remind your kids that you can always try Italian food at home but many cities do not have restaurants that feature Norweigian or French cuisine. You could even ask them nicely to try it and promise that if they don't like their food you will purchase them some counter service options. Or the other way to go is to let your kids pick out some counter service choice to eat and then have them sit with you and get one of the amazing desserts, even picky eaters love those!

BD is one of my favorites. I'ld recommend it anytime. As for Alfredo's I'll say this, "It was by far the worst and most expencsve meal I have ever had at DW". Le Cellar & Corral Reef are my favorites at Epcot. Your kids might enjoy CR, the view into the aquarium is fantastic. Also the last time I ate there the kids at the next table had the octopus (a hot dog cut and curled and made to look like an octopus). Real cute!

.....We will definately do the BD for lunch at MGM and probably do Alfedo's for lunch at Epcot. This seems like the best compromise for everyone, both young and old. Thanks again for everyone's input!

We love Alfredo's..great food/service, beautiful atmosphere..great for a family for lunch. Definately recommend this restaurant.

We were not at all impressed with brown derby...for the price, the food/flavor is highly over rated. We can't recommend this restaurant..as we won't be returning.

I think your choices are perfect. Having eaten at both, BD being one of my very favorites, I think you, or your family, will not be disappointed.

We enjoy both too! And have eaten at both or lunch several times. Brown Derby is one of my favorites! I think you will all find something here to please. Alredo's will also have something for everyone. For dessert we do their sampler platter that has a little taste of all their different options - YUM!
