We will be on Deluxe Dining Plan in Jan 2009. Does Brown Derby worth 2TS? Is there any difference between the regular menu, or Fantasmic! Dining Experience? I guess the price makes no difference to me, since I will pay 2TS anyway.

The menus are supposed to be the same, but we've only done H&V and Mama Melrose for the Fantasmic Package. We ate at Brown Derby five years ago and were not impressed. My DH's meal was okay; mine was not good (terrible steak); service was subpar and DH hated the grapefruit cake. We always give each place two tries, but have never given this one a second try because we don't want to waste two table service credits on it when there are so many other places we really like and still want to try. You will find a lot who love it and those who also think it mediocre.

We just did this in early August.

You choose from the regular dinner menu. You'll get your choice of appetizer, entree, dessert, and non-alcoholic drink. I liked it a lot; DH liked it but not as much as I did. My kids were happy. The atmosphere is great, and our service was excellent.

We've also done the package at Mama Melrose which was good too (though only one credit).

Whether it's "worth it" or not is subjective. If I were on the deluxe plan and had plenty of credits, I'd certainly do it. In terms of cost, HBD is one of the less expensive two credit places, so it's not necessarily a great value, but we liked our meal just the same.

Thank you. We may then consider H&V or Mama Melrose, saving 1TS for another meal :)

All we need are the seats for Fantasmic!, it would be less hassle for us, 2 kids (1 & 5), plus my parents age 70s.

We liked Brown Derby. I have a review of it in my TR..the dessert I had there was really good and my DH crab cake was good. I'd rather eat there than H&V...I never ate at mama melrose.

First, I have never done the dinging plan, and H & V is our normal Fantasmic! Dinner Package stop.

But, we are doing Brown Derby as out Fantasmic! Dinner package this year. I have eaten there only once before, and absolutely loved it. I loved the crab cake, the steak and I had a cheesecake with a blood orange sauce that was wonderful! I have not heard really good things about the Grapefruit cake...which is their "signature" dessert. I also remember that my friend had a less then stellar ravioli of some sort for her appetizer when we ate there.

That all being said, I don't think that the 1 & 5 year old will care for it, but if your parents like the old Hollywood feel , they will probably love this place.
