Brown Bridesmaids Dresses?

I really want to put my girls in chocolate brown dresses but I'm worried aboiut coordinating the rest of the wedding party. For those of you have have used this color, what did the groomsmen wear? I really don't want the attendants to clash in the pictures!

When I started my planning I had purple in mind for my colors....then I got my dress. Its a champagne color and purple just didn't seem to work anymore. Chocolate brown did the trick. Our colors are now Chocolate brown, Cream and Orange. My girls ended up in latte dresses with chocolate brown accents (one has a jacket and the other a sash). My DFi is wearing a black tux with a latte vest (same with the dads) and the groomsmen are wearing chocolate vests. I think it works great. They all have ivory shirts as well. For me everything had to be off white/cream. I just didn't think white went as well with the colors.

I've seen a lot of fashion lately with chocolate brown and pink & chocolate brown and baby blue. Both look lovely together.

I think an ivory or a champagne color for the men looks really good. In a Mens warehouse brouchure I have I have seen the men wearing brown vests and ties with the black tux and it actually looked pretty cool. I think they also make a brown colored tux also.

Thanks everyone. I was worried about everyone thinking the brown and black don't go well together, but now that I know I'm not the only one who thinks it doesn't look all that bad I feel much better!

my bridemaids dresses are chocolate brown with ivory (champagne) but it will be vice versa of what is in the picture below

and the guys i think as of right now there vest will be either brown or ivory

We put the guys in black tuxes with truffle (dark chocolate) vests. It looked fine at the store. Groom is in a black tux with ivory vest....though they really really pushed an ivory tux shirt for him, but we really like the contrast between the two.

I'm in a wedding in 2 weeks wearing a brown dress. The groomsmen are actually wearing brown tuxes. I was a little unsure of them at first, but they look really nice and were actually cheaper than the black tuxes I used for my wedding.

If you go to www.menswarehouse.com you can put together different tuxes and create different looks so you can see how colors go together.

I am also in a wedding next month where I have a long brown dress & the GM (my DF) is where a brown tux. They both look good. We tried it with a black tux & it actually didnt look bad, I think it has to do with the other colors you are putting with the brown too.
