Great update! 27 days is as good as three weeks, and it'll fly by!
Love the pics of Oreo getting into passover!
Happy Passover!
Now we're even closer! Wasn't oreo cute?
I found your report from wlwilliams9's report. I can't believe I have missed it!! Great report- I LOVE the mini trip reports. We are staying at POFQ and the pictures have me SO excited. You parents are awesome! Love the one of your mom with the towel and your dad with the count down stickers on his face!! And your mom's face when facing EE!!
I will be staying at POFQ May 5-12 and we will be passing you on the 11th at Kona... we will be there for Breakfast that day!
We had such a great time at POFQ! I've stayed there twice and I think i'm returning in October. Its so perfectly sized and so peaceful, I just love the theming too. I'm glad mom finally faced EE but I was nervous for her, haha! Dad really gets into it so we should have some interesting pictures from the trip! Maybe we'll bump into eachother while we're there walking around!
Happy Passover! Looks like you had a lovely dinner! That china is gorgeous!
The countdown calendar looks great! How fun! I can't believe how close you are getting!
The china was my grandmother's so thank you! We had a good time that night. david and I enjoyed making the countdown calendar, it was a lot of fun!
Thanks for sharing your family and friend time with us. It helps us get to know each other better when we share those things. What was on the menu?
Your dad might want to go see a doctor soon. He seems to have some unusual growths on his face.
Do you have any video of all of this? I'd like to see the meal and activities that go along with the Passover celebration, if you do.
Hope you have a good weekend planned. I think everyone in my bunch is going to try to catch up on sleep!
Unfortunately, we have no video because I used my SLR camera. My non-jewish friends that were visiting had a great time and enjoyed the cultural experience of it all. I can explain shortly though. It's not a very religious day and doesn't require you to go to services so therefore schools are still open and work still goes on during the day. At sundown, you read from a book that tells the story of passover in a very biblical fashion (in other words, unless you majored in Shakespeare, it will be very hard to follow along) During the sedar, it requires you to pass down things accross the table such as matzo with no drink, a bitter herb, horseradish and apples. Everyone has to eat this its part of the sedar because you have to feel the affliction our ancestors went through so we could be hear today. The sedar can take anywhere from 45 minutes to a few hours. My family shortens it because we aren't religious. My father's mother who passed away years ago, was religious and therefore it would be hours. Once finished, the great food begins! We start with those who want Gefilte Fish & Chopped Liver

and than we move on to homemade chicken soup, with homemade egg noodles, and homemade matzo balls! SO YUMMY! And than depending on the night the actual food comes out. Now on Passover you have to celebrate the fact that once our ancestors escaped Egypt, they had no leavened bread, so the food you eat and cook cannot use bread products (so thats why you have matzo) We had 2 kinds of Brisket, Roasted Chicken, vegetables, and my grandmothers (moms mom) Matzo Stuffing, very delicious! We had a great time. My mothers best friend, husband and son came over. My grandmother's brother flew in from NY as he does each year. It has always been like a secondary Thanksgiving for our family, we enjoy the tradition so we keep it going. Personally, I like to keep myself open to all cultures and faith, so I look forward to one day experiencing Easter as well.
OREO!!! I love him!! He does look just like my Oreo, too cute! I wish you guys still lived in Brooklyn, we could hang out and have Disney movie countdowns! None of my friends are into it for some crazy reason

Your family reminds me so much of mine, I love it. It looks like you all had a great first night of Passover too

:
27 days!!!!!

I can't believe how fast that flew by! I remember first seeing your Cruise Reveal video last year and thinking about how amazing of a surprise it was... and now it's right around the corner. You guys must be thrilled!
Yeah I can't wait until i'm up there (should know the dates soon) so we can hang out for a bit! My cousin lives in Brooklyn and thats where i'll be staying (she lives in redhook)
We are close, I can taste it, c'mon april, fly by!!
A lot of the food was made by me. The soup, the egg noodles for the soup, the Matzo Balls for the soup, etc. For some reason, I've been the chef of the house for the past few weeks. And I don't think we have any videos of Passover, just pictures.
Yeah but you didn't make the brisket or chicken, but you helped with the soup, matzo balls, and noodles so
*Standing ovation*
