Brooke Shields: She'll Hawk Anything!!!

Apparently, this is true!! I really like her. Honestly! She has always seemed like a very nice, humble person and I do think she's talented. She is certainly very beautiful and has aged well! But over the past year or so, I've seen her selling EVERYTHING you could think of on TV...formula...sunscreen...German cars (remember the creepy commercials??)...and now some eyelash growth formula?!?!? What is up with that?? Has anyone else noticed this??

Wait...I forgot the "Total Care" toothpaste...oops!! Anything else I missed??

No. I skip all commercials unless I am watching live TV in the computer room, then I use the the mute button.

Hmmm, I couldn't even tell you what her last show was...I really don't watch TV...maybe that's it. I don't have any problem with her getting paid to promote things...I just think it's funny that she's the spokeswoman for EVERYTHING!!

It's called Latisse...I know this because I just saw the commercial...which prompted me to start this thread. The confusing thing is, the commercial makes it seem like it's only for people with a medical reason to want eyelash growth, but then Brooke is hawking it and she's a beautiful model, and kinda makes it seem like you could do it for cosmetic reasons. But it seems to have some potential, serious side effects...???

I agree. Heck, if I could get a job shooting commercials vs. a 40-hour work week, I'd sell anything: hemmorhoid meds, feminine products- whatever. That would be a pretty sweet gig!

But yeah- I was just thinking about this the other day- I see her in a lot of print ads, too! For all kinds of stuff. But, whatever works for her- she's obviously in demand.

Here's a story from college- Brooke roomed with someone we knew at a different college- So one summer Brooke took friends from school and their friend out in NYC. They stopped for frozen yogurt. Brooke orders first and decides she doesn't like what she got- so did the "anyone want this" thing to the group. One person thinks _ sure I'll take it(cheap college kids free yogurt) Well surprise then she says "Great now you can buy me the one I really want" And took the $3.25 from the other person!!

So she's been very um frugal for a long time.
I will say that she was all other kinds of sweet and nice! Generous just wasn't one her traits.

She was the ivory snow baby and did commercials when she was young. I don't see anything wrong with her doing commercials now, if they are willing to pay her to endorse their products then good for her.

Celebrities more famous then her are in lots of commercials just not in the USA. They do the foreign ones so people in America don't think less of them for being in them. They would never air here. I'm sure they are on Youtube though.
