Brooke Shields: She'll Hawk Anything!!!

Yes, I heard Brooke's mom is now in a nursing home & the paparazzi have been harassing her there, instead of letting her have her privacy.


Brooke dropped off the planet for quite a while in between the Blue Lagoon, until Suddenly Susan, or whatever that series was called. Perhaps she doesn't have the amount of money people think of in terms of celebs. Plus, bad investments or investing with someone like Bernie Madoff may have taken all her money away. (Krya Sedgewick, who did invest with Bernie Madoff is now doing an orange juice commercial. )

If she's still able to sell things in commercials, more power to her. At least, she's not as annoying as Billy Mays.

She took some time off to have her beautiful little girls. Read her book, you will get alot of info, she went through a rough patch trying for those babies and was quite sick.


I have seen (heard actually) some commercials lately that you don't see the actor, but hear the voice. One is a Mercedes commercial and Richard Thomas (Walton's) is the voice, Dr McDreamy does some kind of commercial, can't remember which one, but their voices are very recognizable.

Barbara Feldon, the original Agent 99 from Get Smart, was one of the few women to originally break into the voiceover business. It used to be very male dominated. It was a good thing as she was so typecast as Agent 99, that she couldn't land any other roles back then.

Gene Hackman does the Lowes home improvement commercials, Richard Dreyfus does Honda, every once in a while I still hear Lauren Bacall in something. Queen Latifah does some fast food chain. Linda Hunt, who played the bar owner, Stella, in Silverado, is the voice on the current Harry Potter 6 trailer.

Tom Selleck does Orange Juice and Sam Elliot does "Beef. It's what's for dinner."

Sam Elliott and Gene Hackman I recognized right away. But I had to play that O.J. commercial over and over and STILL didn't get it...until days later when I heard Tom Selleck speaking and Ding! flashed back to the O.J.

I just hate it when I know the voice and can't place it.

She isn't a fabulous actress but she is a charming and likeable woman with two little kids. I am sure that doing commercials is much less demanding on her time than shooting a movie or doing a tv show.

I agree. There is good money in commercials, and voice overs.

Not sure why people choose to criticize an actor for working. I would much rather see an actress actually work, than be famous for hitting the clubs, raising hell, and not wearing underwear.

Some paparazzi checked her Mom out of the home recently and took her out to pump her for info about her daughter. They found her with these guys at a local coffee shop. Can you imagine doing that to some poor woman? It's despicable. I swear I'd press for kidnapping charges.

I thought Brooke was funny when she guest starred on Two and a Half men.

She was the ivory snow baby and did commercials when she was young. I don't see anything wrong with her doing commercials now, if they are willing to pay her to endorse their products then good for her.

Seems like a good way to make a living, to me.

If they were going to pay me the big bucks to do commercials, I'd do them in a heartbeat.
