My son dropped and broke the screen. I was thinking of getting a new one soon, but I guess now I will have too. I looked into replacing the screen, but I do not want to do it myself and it seems it will cost a lot to have it replaced so I think I'll get a new one.
My question is about finding a good deal. I do not wish to buy on Ebay. Do any of you think that Bestbuy, Target, ect will have sales on them with fathers day coming up? I seem to always find good deals on TVs for fathers day, I have never priced Ipads.

Look for refurbished directly from apple on their e site. It comes with the same warranty as the new ones. I buy all my apple products this way.

Do you live near an Apple store? DS dropped his iTouch and cracked the screen. I took it to the Apple Store to see if they could replace the screen. They said they couldn't fix it, but they could give me a new one for $99.

I second buying refurbished from Apple. That's what I did for my husband at Christmas time. I did buy the extended warranty as he was going to use it for work and we have 2 young kids that want to play with it.

Not that this will help now but once you have a new one I highly recommend the Griffin Survivor.

I have a 2 year old, a clutzy husband, and an over eager 70 year old. I figured we were doomed when I bought the iPad as a family Christmas present.

It had been dropped MANY times. Often times I get a sick feeling as I am picking it up expecting pieces. So far so good.

The only thing that has broken was the detachable black stand. It's just a piece of plastic with a spring. I called Griffin and they mailed a replacement. They didn't even request proof of purchase.

I am so glad I opted for the case. It is a pain to put on, and we take it off about every two months to wipe clean the iPad. I am certain without it I would have needed to buy new many times over.

Good luck

Refurbished from AppleStore.com are great. I second a really good case is a must. My iPad (and iphone5) both have Otterbox Defender cases. My little grandson is 5 1/2 and has had ipad since turning 4. I put Griffin Survivor on it first. Later I put a Life Proof on it. Not a scratch on it and it's had a rough life!!! Hope you get a new one soon!

With my Ipod the Apple store said they would give me a new one for $99.00 also. To me since I only paid $90 and my DD mainly uses it, I wasn't going to spend that kind of money. It was still under warranty.

New iPads don't really go on sale. You can get sometimes get a discount using certain credit cards, or look for a refurbished one.

The 4th Generation iPad is out. There are still stores that have the 3rd Generation iPads in their stockrooms. I bought my 3rd Generation iPad a few weeks ago at BrandsMart. It is a 64 GB, AT&T model which would run $829 but I got it for $599 plus tax.

They weren't on the floor, you had to ask. Someone else bought a 3rd Gen at Best Buy that week.
