I have stolen this from another tag - poor person who broke their toe! How many of my fellow Disney nuts have broken a bone and how did you do it?

I have broken my nose twice - first time I was running a school relay race and turned round to take the batton, next thing I know I have run straight into a goal post! :rolleyes1

Second break occured whilst sleep walking - started running across my bedroom, tripped and hit my face on a shelf!

Oh and a broken leg when I went trampolining for the first time ever - turns out I can do flips in the air - I just can't land them! :cheer2:

Anyone else want to share??

About 5 years ago I broke my leg while sledding. I let my boys continue to have fun for about 45 minutes before I admitted that I was pretty sure I needed to go to the ER.

Broke my arm when I was on a motorcyle that went off a mountian and landed in a ravine. Thats the only bone I have ever broken.

I did the same thing that the other poster did, except mine was my BIG toe on the edge of our snack bar - THE NIGHT BEFORE DS's 8th birthday party.

Walked around shopping on it the whole first night and ended up in ER the next morning. They told me it was not broken - SO I played football in the snow with a bunch of 8 year olds at DS's party. That night when I was resting my foot, the ER called back and said "yup, it's broken - stay off and wear snug fitting shoes!" OOOPPPSSS!!!!

I've broken a couple of toes and a finger. The finger is the most memorable. I was cracking my knuckles and my left ring finger wouldn't pop and I just kept trying even harder until finally it started throbbing and hurting. I actually broke my own finger. I guess I don't know my own strength. To this day I can't pop that knuckle.

I once broke both arms at the same time! I was riding my bike and went flying over the handle bars face first to the pavement. I put my arms out to break my fall and broke both of them just below the elbow. I thought I had just sprained both wrists but went to ER anyway. Try living your life with NO arms. My mother had to wipe my tushy for several weeks!

I also broke my right wrist, twice. Fell off a display at work that was about 15 feet high. Shattered a small bone and had to have surgery twice on it. Several years later I broke the exact same wrist, exact same bone.

I tripped over my breastpump going down a flight of stairs when my DS was 3 weeks old and broke my arm. I took it as a sign from God that pumping was not the sport for me.

In my younger days, I had several skull fractures, a broken leg and a broken tailbone from riding horses.

I spiral broke my tibia and fibula, left leg, 3 days before Christmas.......this was the year I was going to try and do a Victorian Christmas, Dickens style, cooking a goose, plum pudding. I barely remember Christmas that year, my poor family had to go it alone as Mom was in agony with a huge cast on her leg.....

I did it running around my basement collecting Christmas things and I stepped into a plastic storage box with wheels on it. The box was stuffed with Christmas items so it grabbed my foot, I went my flying one way, my leg the other, I heard the crack..

I never want to break anything again. Yikes that hurt.

I'm a klutz...
I had a stress fracture in my foot from jumping off play equipment in PreSchool
I broke my wrist falling off the monkey bars in 5th grade
I broke my nose goofing around playing ice hockey on my neighbor's make-shift ice rink
I've broken numerous fingers and toes
Yes I'm the person who falls UP the stairs...

About a year ago I broke a bone on the top of my left foot - not sure how as I was just out for my daily walk.

But in February I got up in the middle of the night with the dog and severely stubbed my right little toe. Talk about hurt!! It was bruised so bad it looked like a grape! OUCH! I thought for sure it was broken but I had an x-ray and the doc said it was a torn ligament. It is just now, at the end of April, finally feeling almost totally better. Every once if I move my foot the wrong way it will still hurt - almost like an ache or bruise. Getting old is no fun!!

Oh my. I think having to have my mom wipe me would be far worse than any pain I'd feel in the breaks! How old were you?

I broke my right arm and fractured my left, but not at the same time. When I was about 5, I was trying to do a cartwheel and landed straight down on my arm and broke it. A year or so later, I was on a swing on the playground and when I was high in the air, the chain broke and I landed on my arm and fractured it.

Here are my broken bone stories, well more like I am a Giant clutz. I was 18 and I drove barefoot,it was summer, and I gone home and I got half way out of the car when I forgot something that had slid to the passenger side floor near the door, so I leaned over with my foot near the driver door that I had swung open and it swung back right on the big left toe. Broke it, soft cast, crutches. It finally was all right to take the soft cast off, a few days later, the guy I was seeing was drunk and guess what? stepped on my toe, well more like feel on my toe, the same toe, broke again.
I was in 5th grade and we were playing desk ball, now why would the teacher let us play this, I don't know. I was going to another desk and my left pinky finger went across the desk at some bad way, dislocated it, well the doctor had to move it around to put it back in place, so he broke it while trying to put it back in place.
Since I admitting to my clutz self: I have at 2 different times when I was a baby to hitting my eyebrow the same once twice on the same coffee table corner and have a nice scar.
I have also spraigned my right ankle twice in 2003 on steps at the house a few months apart and the last time the doctor told me he was surprised I didn't fracture it and had to wear a big Frankenstein boot and the last time was 1 month before my trip to WDW!

Let's see...

-Broke my nose falling flat on my face from a chin-up bar in my best friend's house at age 4...
-Hairline fracture in my right lower arm from a skiing trip in college...
-Hairline fracture in a bone in my foot from falling out of the shuttle bus at the airport- I was holding 6 month-old DD in her baby carrier, and managed to keep her safe, but hurt my foot...
-Broke my right wrist falling off a coffee table in my house about 6 years ago. We were putting our house on the market, and our Realtor suggested I wash the windows. So, instead of using a stepladder, I decide to stand on the coffee table to reach the top of the window. Bad choice- I fell off, and stuck out my hand to catch myself- SNAP!!

I never broke anything until 2 years ago...I broke my sternum in a car accident. It broke because I was rear ended, and the seat belt held me back, but the impact caused it (the bone) to break. It really really hurt.

I broke my nose at swim practice when I was younger and had forgotten my goggles; I made the wise decision to swim with my eyes closed and wham--face-plant right into the wall. I don't think I've ever seen so much blood in my life. :sad2:

I also broke my left wrist in 1st grade, trying to be just like my gymnast friend and do a front handspring (despite the fact that I had no clue how to do one myself), and in '01, I broke my left forearm playing roller hockey. That arm/wrist is still moderately screwed up to this day--if I accidentally bend my hand back too sharply, I get a bolt of pain.

Oh, and my senior year in HS, I fell down my parents' basement steps and broke my ankle, but didn't find out that it was broken (rather than just sprained) till 2 months later, when I was wondering why it was still twice its normal size. The night I fell, I went out dancing with friends (because it was a date with a cute boy I'd had my eye on for a while...sheesh) and by the time I got home that night, my ankle was the size of a grapefruit. Yuck.

1. Broke my leg when I was 2. I was in a car wreck.

2. Broke my back when I was 6. This was the accident that my paraplegia came from. I also broke my jaw in that one.

3. Broke my finger while on vacation in Daytona Beach when I was 18. Scared my poor grandparents to death.

4. Broke my little toe when I was 21 or so. I have no clue how I did it.

Hmmmm. Didn't realize I had broken so many bones, and I'm only 27!!

I broke my arm in the 5th grade trying to show off doing some flip thing at recess. I broke the "ball" clean off the ball-and-socket joint in your shoulder. The only kind of cast they could've put on me was a full body cast b/c of where the break was--so instead I was in a sling for more than 8 weeks! And then the Dr. didn't think my arm was going to grow any longer b/c I broke it in the growth plate. Thankfully, I now sport 2 arms of the same length.

I'm the one that broke my little pinkie toe......running into a case of soda! Oy!!! It hurts! And looks horrible. I hope it's fine for our very first trip to the world in 6 weeks.
