broken arm/WDW?

When my son got his waterproof cast it was January. The PA who saw us that day told him he could shower, take a bath or go swimming with that cast on. DS was THRILLED by this and told everyone about it all day long. I figured out at bedtime that he interpreted that statement as "before you go to bed you get your choice...a shower, a bath or go swimming!" Guess which one he wanted. ;) He was not happy with me when I explained that the doctor meant that he could go swimming at Disney IF the weather was warm enough. Of course it wasn't but that's a whole other 4 year old rant. :rotfl:

Gotta love the literal way that little ones take things... That's just too funny!

Just got caught back up with this thread - that is great you're son will be able to go swimming now at WDW and no worries about rain, either. Our DS10 got his cast off yesterday and we leave FRI so that made us happy. In our ortho office they now have a sign in every room that says waterproof casting materials available, not covered by any insurance, $40 charge payable up front. They didn't have these 5 weeks ago when we got ours! But we did fine with the kitchen glove, garbage bag, duct tape routine, and now we are ready to go - well we will be if I get off of here and finish packing.

Hmmm......
black cast......
summer sun........

That seemd like a lesson about the relationship between color and hot sun would be learned pretty quickly in Florida.

Hopefully it comes off on Friday, we leave the 23rd. It has been a very long 6 weeks with the casts on.

Even though it is black, we live in Philly so we know heat and humidity (107 heat index today) he never seems bothered by it.

If he does have to have another one put on on Friday, I told him he has to get a different color so the charaters can sign it.

My sister broke her arm just above her elbow 2 weeks before we went in Sept. She didn't have a waterproof cast because it was a full arm cast. My mom went to Wally world and bought blue saran wrap (to match the cast) and wrapped it good and then secured around the edges with waterproof medical tape. We laugher that my sis looked like a leftover but it worked in the pools! She diddn't have any problems on any rides however at Seaworld, they wouldn't let her on a few rides because of the cast :confused3 . But WDW and UO there were no issues.
