Broadway week 2 for 1 presale

In case anyone can use this

Jan 17-Feb 4 is broadway week where you can buy 2 for 1 tickets to a lot of broadway shows. For some shows it's all shows during this period but for others it might only be tues, wed and thurs.
Anyway, the official sale starts Jan 3 but the presage is today thourgh Jan 3. The shows available include anything goes, wicked (!) lion king, jersey boys and Mary poplins. There are others but these are the hot ones.

I scored tickets for DD and and I to see wicked for $66 each with fees. She has been dying to see the show but I just couldn't justify the $130+ for each ticket.

Thank you OP! Took advantage of 2 shows for myself and 1 for a gift! GREAT SALE on some shows that almost never go on sale!

I am seeing Wicked & Jersey Boys, and bought tix for Rock of Ages for a gift (against my better judgement on that one though...those tix often go on sale for much cheaper). It's a great deal for Jersey Boys, Wicked and Lion King though!!!!!!!!!!!

I went on to get the tickets and had some confusion. Do I have to pick seats with the "locks" on them that are for promotional codes? Also, is the orchestra a good place to sit or is it better to be "off the floor" in a mezzanine area?

I saw the Lion King and we sat in the first row of Mezzanine section. It was great seats. I sat in the Orchestra for Sister Act, a few rows from the stage. Those seats were great too! I think the Orchestra is first choice, but if it is too far back, then the first few rows of the Mezzanine would be good too!

No, the locks on seats are not available. You need to look for dots that are black once you type in the BW2012 (look to the sides and back of orchestra for most shows...you have to move the arrows up/down and side to side to find the dots. Some shows have nothing left except single seats so look closely show by show.

Some shows don't use this method...some were through Broadway Box and some through Ticketmaster and only one does this (Wicked uses the dots and ticketmaster, jersey boys uses Broadway Box and a different method).

Your welcome! I am sooo tempted to also get tickets fo lion king. DD and I have been dying to see it but could never justify the cost. Since I got Wicked tickets and we have a deductible to pay on our car repair we can't afford it now. I am not sure if they do this every year but if they do I will take her to see lion king and hopefully another show next year.
