Broadway Club

Carrying the Banner or Fine Line, I don't know what it's called.
The world will know.
Seize the Day.
King of New York:
A pair of new shoes with matchin' laces!
A permanent box at Sheepshead races!
A porcelain tub with boilin' water!
A Saturday night with the mayor's daughter!
Look at me
I'm the king of New York
Suddenly
I'm respectable
Starin' right at 'cha
Lousy with stature
Nobbin' with all the muckety-mucks
I'm blowin' my dough and goin' deluxe
And there I be
Ain't I pretty?
It's my city
I'm the king of New York!
A corduroy suit with fitted knickers
A mezzanine seat to see the flickers
Havana cigars that cost a quarter
An editor's desk for the star reporter
Tip your hat
He's the king of New York
How 'bout that!
I'm the king of New York
In nothing flat
He'll be covering
Brooklyn to Trenton
Our man Denton
Makin' a headline out of a hunch
Protecting the weak
And payin' for lunch
When I'm at bat
Strong men crumble
Proud yet humble
I'm (He's) the king of New York
I gotta be either dead or dreamin'
'Cause look at that pape with my face beamin'
Tomorrow they may wrap fishes in it
But I was a star for one whole minute
Startin' now
I'm the king of New York
Ain't ya heard?
I'm the king of New York
Holy cow
It's miracle
Pulitzer's cryin'
Weasel, he's dyin'
Flashpots are shootin' bright as the sun
I'm one highfalutin' son-of-a-gun
Don't ask me how
Fortune found me
Fate just crowned me
Now I'm king of New York
Look and see
Once a piker
Now a striker
I'm the king of New York
Victory!
Front page story
Guts and glory
I'm the king of New York!

Sorry, it's really long.

There's no way I'd be able to keep up with this thread, but I LOVE B-WAY!!

Seen:

Lion King
CATS! -favorite-

This year:

Jersey Boys -YES!!! This is payback for not getting Frankie Valley tickets when he came through town :teeth:-

Legally Blonde -If I'm lucky-

I've seen a ton of others in movies or local theatres too :p.

:rotfl:

Oh boy I need to get that book, to.

And I don't know if anybody's seen it- but based off of youtube clips- I think the Little Mermaid on broadway is slightly cheesy looking.

Especially if you compare it to the creativity and imagination in Lion King's adaptation.

Heck- I think Mary Poppins is looking pretty good, too! But something about little mermaid I didn't like :confused3

GASP.

*runs to IL*

*places book in Allie's hands*

*watches her SQUEE whenever Adam Pascal is mentioned*
OMG. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE xD

::yes:: It is. They use Heelies to "glide" around on stage and Ariel looks like she has two tails to me. Her legs (in green material) and then one that sticks up behind her so she looks like shes swimming.

ZOMG! BROADWAY CLUB!

HI!!!!

My top 5 r:

1. Wicked
2. The lion King
3. Billy Elliot
4. Chicago
5. Chorus Line

haha, i didnt really like phantom but I saw it when I was 5 :confused3

*sigh* it seems like one broadway show is closing after another..

Bummer- I never got to see Spring Awakening but I've heard a few songs and saw how they swept the Tony's away.

Spamalot, I did see- Drew Lachey as Patsy- adorable!

Aw, really? I saw him at Broadway on Broadway (he was the host) and he sang Always Look on the Bright Side of Life. He was really adorable.

Yeah he was awesome and his smile is just so cute! I kept wanting to give him a hug! :rotfl: ( I caught him at the end of July )

Spring Awakening too?? What is going on? I am definitley going to have to see it one more time. I wanted to see it with the kid from Weeds anyway.

AH!
HELP!

I'm debating a huge thing right now.
If I go and see RENT this summer, my mom said that we weren't going to be able to go to disney.
I'm so stressed, I can't figure out what to do. If I pick to go see RENT, that means I'll have to wait until my senior year (I'm a sophomore now) to go to Disney, my brother won't be able to go, and I'll just have a two hour show instead of an 11 day vacation.
BUT, this is RENT's tour and it has ANTHONY RAPP AND ADAM PASCAL. Disney will always be there, but RENT won't.

HELP ME. :faint:

My mom called me to her room in the middle of this post, but I'm back with news.

She said that she'll ask if she can get the tickets for my birthday present, but that means that I won't get any other presents.
Which is fine by me.
I still don't know yet. She said we'll try to get to disney but she isn't sure if we can or not.
I told her that if we couldn't go to disney, I don't think I want to go see RENT.

SA is closing?!

 *cries hysterically*

And mom won't let me see it because of the 'mature themes'. I was gonna go for my 18th b-day. Now I can't.

Thanks a lot mom. Another show I'll never see, AND IT'S COMING AROUND. F--------------------

so I haven't posted in a while but I have a few thoughts on SA...

The new cast is NOT up to par. I saw this cast a few weeks ago and they are just not good. (with a few exceptions) The origional cast was dynamite....but I think the casting directors just didn't do a good job replacing everyone.

A bad cast combined with this economy....well that it a failing combination.

Oh god this economy:mad:

I shall be going to new york in easter, most likely my only trip before adulthood. Anyway, this seems to be a case of bad timing, as everything is closing :U
I really wanted to see legally blonde, hairspray and RENT(although rent I only discovered after it closed)
siigh
so inform me on whats left that is good. I have to have one big family show everyone can go to, the others I shall probably be dropped off at the theatre to go alone XD.

Anyone heard any good news about that Tale of Two Cities?..I like the book as is, and have always thought it would make a good musical.
I suppose there is always Wicked (wicked is a definite) and phantom.
