Broadway Club

Okay, I want to re-join! I've been gone forever.

It turns out I didn't get to see RENT or Wicked, like I'd thought I was going to. I went to NYC with the drama club, and instead we say Hairspray and Cry Baby. Both of which was AMAZING. I mean, I loved it. One of my friends, who rarely ever gets extremely excited over anything, was pracitically in tears, she loved Cry Baby so much.

As part of one of our drama workshops, we got to meet Judienne (I think that's how you spell it), from Hairspray. She came in with her little boy, and just sat there and chatted with us. I loved how down-to-earth she was. She asked everyone what they wanted to do with their lives, she stayed after to talk with those who had expressed enthusiastic interest in going into theatre. She gave out advice, took pictures... it was amazing.

I have just been introduced to The Last Five Years, and I'm in love. Seriously. And my friend and I have already decided that we're going to try our hardest to see Spring Awakening when it goes on a tour. He'll be 18 by then, and I'm gonna find some way in. I will, I will!

Amanda has exciting news!

WICKED is coming up THIS Saturday, and GUESS WHO'S playing Elphie?

STEPHANIE J. BLOCK!!

Turns out that she and Annaleigh are leaving in June. So YAY!!

And I bought the Spring Awakening soundtrack off iTunes. A. Freaking. Mazing.

I wanna see Cry Baby wicked wicked bad!!!

Cry Baby was amazing, and wickedly funny. Very vulgar! One song is titled, "Can I Kiss You With Tongue?" It's hilarious.

i saw Wicked and i thought it was so funny. The cast was really great i saw it last june and the cast was Julia Murney as Elphie and Kendra Kassebaum as Glinda or Galinda if you like. :rotfl2: POPULAR!!

My sister just bought me tickets to see the revival of South Pacific for my birthday! I'm sooo excited. :)

Just saw WICKED again yesterday, in NYC.

So sad; Stephanie J. Block was out yesterday. Her understudy, Chelsea Kumbach, went on. She was decent, but for sure no Stephanie!

Annaleigh Ashford shone every moment she was on that stage! Her "Popular" was especially nice. Very different from her "Legally Blonde: The Musical" sound (same type "ditzy" character, though).

Best moments:
"Don't you dare touch that girl or her dog...Dodo!" ~Glinda
"LET THE GREEN GIRL GO!" ~Fieyro
"Fieyro's been thinking...I'm scared!" ~Glinda
"I've been thinking..." "Yes, I've heard!" ~Fieyro and Elphaba
Christy Chandler's "The Wicked Witch of the East" (she made an excellent Nessarose)
"Wonderful" was quite good
Defying Gravity. Knockout. 'Nuff said.
Catfight in the cornfield. Best damn catfight EVER!!
:)

OMG guys, Tony nominations announced today!! If you want to find out, go to http://www.tonyawards.com/en_US/nominees/index.html

I'm mostly thrilled with the nominees. Sad that Norbert Leo Butz (OBC Wicked) didn't get a nom for his role in Is He Dead. But Cry-Baby got nominated for Best Musical, as well as Gypsy and South Pacific, which is awesome! My main happiness is Andrea Martin and Christopher Fitzgerald (also OBC Wicked) from Young Frankenstein getting nominated. Cause they both totally deserve it. Anyhoo, check the website out! And I'm glad you liked Wicked ArielJonasFan and AmandaSparks, and that's so awesome about Cry-Baby, Maleficent!

Okay, so I just read Wicked. It was amazing!!
I loved it!
I want to see it on Broadway sooooo bad!

Also, kind of OT but....Have any of you heard of or seen Bat Boy?
It's an off-broadway production, but I saw it at a local drama thing and it was AMAZING!

Just wondering if any of you have seen it.

Me and two of my friends have just convinced our drama teacher to take us to see "Spring Awakening" next year when it goes on tour! Woo hoo! :cool1: And I found that "Wicked" tours near here around my birthday, so I'm going to see if I might be able to convince my mother that it would be a wonderful present if I got to take a few of my friends to see it. That would be awesome.

OMG, my friend (who is completely obsessed with theatre!) let me borrow her [title of show] soundtrack last night, and I cracked up the entire time. I love it!

I LOVE [Title of Show]!!!! Its going to broadway.

OMG!
I saw Wicked last night.
2nd best thing I've seen besides WDW.
It was SO amazing.
The cast was absolutely fantastic, their voices were perfect.
I was smilling the whole time.
Unfortunately I was stupid and didn't pay to get a signed poster by the cast. (My friend did and I want to steal it from her. :p)
I'm incredibly angry at myself, but I really want to go see it again now!

Oh my gosh, that's so great, I'm so glad you liked it!! Wicked is absolutely amazing.

So I'm awaiting my mom's phone call for her approval, but I think me and like, 3 of my friends are going into the city on Sunday to see Spring Awakening!! They've all seen it about 3 times, but this will be my first time! If my dearest mother says yes (which I'm pretty positive she will) I promise I'll write all about how it was :)

I'm seeing the Spamalot tour tonight! I'm so excited, Gary Beach is King Arthur! I'm hoping they stage door, I'd love to get a pic with Gary... :lovestruc

I want to see Wicked. My parents don't like it though and none of my friends that I know of likes it. .-.

Ohmigod, Spamalot was AMAZING! It was so hilarious! The cast was really talented and funny, and of course Gary Beach was incredible (didn't get a pic though :(). If you've ever seen Holy Grail, you NEED to see this show!

It's so good. :goodvibes

Anyone seen commercials for that Legally Blonde show on MTV? Apparently there casting the next Elle Woods. I will probably watch....but I hate how Hollywood commercializes Broadway. No musical theatre audition is ever like they seem on TV.

Oh, I know. I'll probably watch anyways, for kicks.

And because it's Broadway, of course!

Hey, has anyone seen The Lion King yet?
I'm thinking about trying to get my mom to get me tickets to go see it, since I want to go. (I'll pay for it myself.)
I want to know if anyone has seen it and what they thought about it.
