Broadway Club

D= That is like so not fair Jessica! (Is it okay for me to call you Jessica?) I want to see RENT, too.

Yes, Jessica's my name, haha.

I've heard of [title of show]. I've been meaning to buy the soundtrack from iTunes, but I'm a little strapped for cash at the moment. :p

There's a huge snow storm going on right now, so I'm hoping to god they don't cancel Rent!

I was going to rush for the matinee but the line was outside. I'd really like those tickets, but I don't think it's worth getting deathly ill for. :p

omg, I am in LOVE with Last 5 Years. Simply AMAZING. and so sad too. My friend is thinking of putting L5Y on for her senior project, I'm so excited. :)

Has anyone heard of [title of show]? It was an off-Broadway show a few years back, and it's SO good.

LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!

I find it so frusterating when people "love broadway" and know nothing about off broadway and even less well known broadway shows.

Speaking of off broadway, I love Altar Boyz, and I was showing a video of Altar Boyz to my friend. Her Mom walked in and got wicked offended. I feel really bad, I personally think the musical is hilarious, but I geuss I can see where it can get offensive.

I like the taboo that goes along with theatre, makes for an interesting show.

I'm baaaack! And guess what?
Row BB at our theater means A, B, C....AA, BB, CC, etc.
At the Ambassador? BB = FRONT ROW!
My first show actually ON the Great White Way (not in our theater in the CAPITAL of our small, small state) and I sit in the FRONT ROW!
AHHHHHH!!!!!! :cutie:
Chicago was really, really good! (but will never take the place of WICKED in my heart LOL)
I was being a total Broadwaygeek the whole time like "OH MY GOD IT'S LEGALLY BLONDE!" and "OH MY GOD WICKED!!" etc. My Mom made fun of me
I just said "we all have our obessions. Embrace your inner geek... AHH LOOK, IT'S (INSERT NAME OF SHOW HERE)!!" :lmao:
I can't WAIT for January 19! Why? I'm seeing RENT! :woohoo: :thumbsup2

anyone here like Thoroughly Modern Millie? I just discovered the soundtrack :D

I've heard of it, but haven't actually heard any of the songs.

don't die thread!!!

For my speech communications class we had to give informative speeches, so mine was how Rent reflected Jonathan Larson's (the composer) life. For my intro I played a bit of Seasons of Love... it was amazing. :)

Cool.
There's no way I can put RENT into a how-to report, right?;)

Too bad I can't play the piano or something.. If I could I could play one of the songs.

I was actually in TMM. I was one of the Chinese brothers, expect they switched my gender. So it was two Chinese brothers and one sister. The more I think about it, the dumber that seems to me. Anyhoo, I liked the show a lot before I was in it. Then it got old. And the people I was in it with were like, 12 and 13 (I was the oldest...I was 15). So we all didn't have that much fun. And it was my last show at my old theatre place, and I cried when I left (which I wasn't expecting), so it's hard to listen to Millie music anymore because I just remember crying. Isn't that awful? Sorry for that long explanation ;)

So...I have news! I'm in Les Miz right now, and our Eponine is amazing. We all love her. Anyways, she went for an audition for Spring Awakening, and got a callback. Sure enough, she got in! At least that's what everyone is telling me. My friends said she's ensemble/understudy. I don't know who she's an understudy for, but I have a feeling it's Wendla, because my friend described the role, and it sounded like Wendla. I don't know what she starts, but a bunch of us in my theatre group want to go see it with her in it. Just in case she becomes a big star...her name is Allie. So I just thought that was cool :)

I love TTM....sounds like a really fun show to do. Sorry you had a lously time Tinkerbelle, Ive had shows that were sad too!!

I was in TMM. It's a wonderful show...but the music got really annoying. But maybe thats because I had to hear it Monday-Thursday, and Saturday for 3-6 hours a day for 4 months straight.

Anyway, it was a fun show to be in and all that jazz but I'm really sick of the music right now.

Lol, I gather that's based on the movie, right?

When it asked which character loved music I would of thought it'd be Angel since she sings 'Music! Food of love, emotion, mathematics, isolation....'

I made a Rent quiz on Facebook, haha.
Yeah, based on the movie cause I haven't seen it on Broadway yet. If I put guitar it would have been easier. I thought for people who have never seen RENT they'd think question 3 was really tricky. Almost all of them could have been it. XD

Ah, no prob. It's life...and it's theatre! I was at a sleepover last night, and a friend who's in Les Miz and I were summing up to all the other people how theater peeps deal with drama and junk. It was a really funny conversation, actually.

So...that had nothing to do with Millie. But anyway :) Um, did I say that I'm seeing Young Frankenstein next Friday? I thought I did. I thought we had tickets for forever ago, but turns out they're for soon. I'm really excited! My mom makes fun of me because the only thing that gets me really psyched when there are commercials or clips of it on TV is Christopher Fitzgerald. He plays Igor, that creepy dude. Aaaaand, he was the original Boq in Wicked, which is why I love him so much. So I'm looking forward to seeing him a lot :thumbsup2

Im seeing Young Frankenstien...forget when the tickets are for...but its coming up! I think this show will be amazing!!!

Has anyone here seen Riverdance or The Producers?

I'm seeing both of them next year...along with...RENT!!

Are those shows good? THANKS!

I haven't seen the shows on stage, but have seen video's of riverdance (it looks ok, but it would probably appeal more to a non irish audience)

The producers is one of my favorite musicals (and movie's) it has great songs, and is very very funny!
