Broadband dongles/ Mobile phones

Me again - told you there would be lots of last minute questions!

Anyone used (successfully or otherwise) a broadband dongle in DLP (we are staying in HNY if that makes a difference) if so which network works best and if it doesn't work in the hotel are there any hotspots around. I'm sure I read somewhere that there are Orange jotspots but was unsure whether the poster meant phone or internet

I know there is wifi in MacD and that some hotels sell vouchers for broadband (idiot moment - if you buy say 24 hours of internet time I presume that is 24 hours in 1 block and not 24 hours cumulative time?) any other ideas for picking up emails/surfing?

Likewise any mobile phone networks more reliable/worse than others? Between us we have Virgin, Orange, Tesco and another 1 I can't remember at the moment!

I have no idea about the dongle question, sorry . I have Orange payg, always worked fine at DLP.

Its a couple of yrs since Ive been to DLP but I always used to get the broadband in the hotels and it was supplied by orange France. Also the vouchers were ongoing (ie 24hrs worth not to be used within 24hrs etc)

We're on Virgin payg which always works fine for us at DLP.

I am on a contract with Vodafone, and it will not work, whatever I try, and despite Vodafone assuring me there should be no problem. My missus, on the other hand, has Vodafone pay as you go, and never has a problem.

we are all orange, 3g and calls worked lovely

costs a bloody fortune though .. ran up 30 quids worth of calls / txts and mobile browsing in 5 days !!!
