Broadband Access at DVC

Does anyone know if SSR will have boadband internet access? How about the other DVC properties?

I think that with the majority of the resorts adding it, it's only a matter of time!

SSR will have internet access when it opens in May. There is an article in the most recent vacation magic about this new service.

High Speed Internet Access is being installed in many Walt Disney World resorts. In-room access is currently available at Coronado Springs, Yacht & Beach Club Resorts, the Contemporary, the Grand Floridian, and the Beach Club Villas. Tentative dates for bringing other resorts "up to speed" are:

BoardWalk (including DVC units) - February 9, 2004
Villas at the Wilderness Lodge - February 16, 2004
Old Key West - April 2, 2004
Saratoga Springs - April 29, 2004

Access requires a Local Area Network (LAN) cable. The price is $9.95 for 24 contiguous hours, charged to your room account.

In the new Vacation Magic on page 17 there is a blurb about the new Internet Connections. Sounds great except for the cost. $9.95/day seems a little high to me.

I agree tha price is high for just 24 hours of access, but that is comparable to what I have seen for high speed speed access at other upper end hotels, such as Marriot.

Actually, its cheaper. I have paid $15 for four hours, $15 for 24 hours, $12.95 till tomorrow morning checkout. I don't think I have ever seen it as cheap in any other hotel.

I do hope they get some kind of package thing or frequent surfer or something. I will have it from the moment I arrive till the moment I leave.

But I forget. I now have this super cool Verizon card that lets me surf at 165kbps, almost four times faster than dial up. Its almost $100 a month, but well worth it.

I just hope it works in WDW.
