Brk & Lunch Buffet style??

Never been on DCL. Hoping to within the next 6 months. On a past cruise we were on breakfast and lunch was served buffet style. Brk was from maybe 6-9 and lunch from maybe 11:30-1:30. It was not held in the reg. dining area but rather on an open type deck. You could however partake bkf in the reg dining room and order off of a limited menu. I don't believe we paid extra for this. Does DCL work the same way or do you go to the normal dining areas for brk and lunch? Also, if you do order off a menu is there additonal cost involved or is all (not including liquor of course and soda's) included in the cost of the cruise? Thanks so much!

For breakfast and lunch (on the 7 day anyway) you can either go to Topsider's for the buffet, or Lumiers's or Parrot Cay for sit down. I think Parrot Cay sometimes has a themed buffet for lunch. I went to the Italian and Asian and they were both quite good. There is not extra charge for this, and no need to tip, although some people on this board to tip. I feel that it is covered in the tip that I give my servers at the end or the cruise (DCL docs state this as well....)

On DCL there are several choices. For breakfast, there is a buffet on Deck 9 in the morning. It's several hours long. There is usually similar fare buffet style in Parrot Cay in the morning for a shorter period of time, or you can have a sit down off the menu breakfast in Lumiere's (Tritons on the Wonder), also shorter timeframe (maybe 8-9:30?). Final option is room service. Any or all of these are at no charge (room service will charge for drinks other than coffee, tea or milk).

For lunch, the above options are there, plus there are numerous places to grab a "fast food" type lunch. There is a pizza place and a hot dog/hamburger place by the pools. You can also get chicken strips and sausage sandwiches there. The ice cream place has fresh fruit, cookies, and wraps most of the time. Again, all of this is included in the cruise.

For drinks, on Deck 9, there is a station serving water, lemonade, fruit punch, coffee and tea for free. In the dining rooms, sodas are free. Other drinks are available for purchase at the bars.

Plenty of choices, mostly included in the price.

On DCL, they have both. They have a buffet on deck 9, with both inside and outside seating, as well as the dining room. You can go to either one, no additional charge. On the 7 day cruises, you can even go to the buffet style restaurant at dinner, casual attire. We found the food to be very good in both locations.

I really appreciate all the posts! My questions have been answered and I am very please with how DCL handles bkr and lunch. We were not too crazy with the food and seating on our last cruise (American Hawaii CL) Both meals were only fair however Dinner was superb.

Hoping to do the seven day cruise this coming spring!

Yup, I admit it!
I'm the big tipper who tips everyone all the time. Just so happy to be able to do it and you know, what goes around comes around - so whatever kindness I can do for another person, I will do.

It breaks down to this - breakfast for 7 mornings for the three of us - $21.00 -Lunch for 5/6 days for three of us - $18.00
Grand total for this big spender for these additional tips - $39.00.

I don't think I am going to go broke for $40 bucks, and you know it gives me such a good feeling inside!!!
