Has been reported dead by TMZ who broke Heath Ledgers and Michael Jacksons death. Reported cardiac arrest.

I love her in Riding in Cars with boys.

It is so sad, she was a very good actress. Her performance in girl interrupted stands out to me and really freaked me. Also remember her in sister sister years ago.

They haven't released an official cause yet. Allegedly her Mum found her unconcious in the shower, by the time paramedics arrived her heart had already stopped and she was declared dead on arrival at hospital.

Must admit my first thought was Anorexia, she has looked anorexic for a long time to me. ( I have been in hospital with anorexic girls as a teenager).

Heard alot of this one going around. That or the cocaine rumour!

I'm gutted Probably one of my favourite actresses. From Clueless to 8 Mile to Riding in Cars with Boys and Sin City. Suppose she's really a "chick flick" legend.

She was one of my favourites too. I love in riding in cars where she is crying at the wedding with Drew Barrymore really over the top. Also "My daughter is a tramp, my daughter is a tramp!" She really made the film, she was such a good comic actress as well as being a serious actress.

I must admit, I'd heard the name but couldn't really place her in a film I had seen.

Seems like the rumours about all of the above are beginning to surface - Anorexia and Cocaine and presciption drug abuse. Seems like she didn't have a conventional background, a child music star and convicted mobster father and she had recently been fired from a movie too.
What a shame
