Well, it's been an exhaustive (not to mention exhausting!) process, but we have finally brought the Brit's Guide to Orlando website fully up to date on all pages, after months of battling with a million different distractions and online issues (not the least of which is we are due to transfer to a new server any day, with all the attendant problems of new procedures). The Links pages were another headache, requiring hours of tracking down for broken or missing links, but the good news is we have added a ton of extra links for restaurants, hotels and webcams. Hopefully people will think it is worthwhile, and we are always open to feedback for other elements which people would like to see, or see improved :)

Phew! Feel worn out just reading your post, but I'll head on over there and check it out...

It's a great site, with loads of new information on it...thanks :thumbsup2 Is it just me or does the yellow bar at the top get really annoying when it follows you all the way down the page? When you try to print something off and the bar is in the middle it then prints off on your page.....sorry Simon, only a small complaint ;)

The site looks very nice Simon :thumbsup2 all the hard work was obviously well worth it :)

I would agree with GirlsonTour about the floating menu though - It was driving me mental! :rolleyes:

This is a minor complaint and yeah it annoys me too. :confused3 Apart from that - fab Simon, Thanks!! :thumbsup2

Funnily enough, Susan and I have never been a fan of the 'floating bar' but it was put on by the original designer and our new webmaster has had his hands full with a million other issues, so it has never been a priority to remove. However, I'm told it WILL come off once we change servers, which should make a lot of people (including us!) very happy :teeth:

Thanks for the info Simon, loved your write up on EE, I reckon you've finally persuaded me to ride it! Also do you have confirmation on the MGM character meal? there are people on the restaurant board who have been calling WDW DINE every day and they still can't book it.

Hi Carol

Our info is still that the Breakfast & Beyond meal is due to start booking 'soon.' Disney-MGM Studios remains the one park without a character meal, and it is something management want to correct. I guess they want to make sure they have got the format correct before they launch it officially, but we do expect this to happen before the big Easter season kicks in.

yay! thanks so much Simon, do you have any news yet on the proposed 'villains' style hallowe'en party?

The 'Busy Days Guide' is a valuable resource, but it's not signposted. I wouldn't think to look for it under 'Park Updates'. Maybe it could have its own link. Better still, a dedicated page.

I've always said the floating bar needs to go - it's only operational when it's at the top of the page, anyway, so it's not only annoying, but pointlessly so! Still, I think enough's been said on that one...

Wow, the links page has grown! Again, another really useful resource. At the risk of maybe making it too long, you could add:

Cirque du Soleil, La Nouba (http://www.cirquedusoleil.com/CirqueDuSoleil/en/showstickets/lanouba/intro/intro.htm);

Hard Rock Live, Orlando (http://www.hardrock.com/live2/live.asp);

House of Blues, Orlando (http://www.hob.com/venues/clubvenues/orlando/);

Pollstar (http://www.pollstar.com/tour/search...From=Today&Date_To=03-08-2008&By=All&PSKey=Y). This site will tell you all the concerts on in the area, although you will have to input the location (for example Orlando, Miami, Tampa and, for HoB, Lake Buena Vista). This is a great resource in general - you can sign up for email notifications of tour dates for up to 4 artists.

Disney Cruise Line (http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/dcl/en_US/index);

Disney Weddings (http://disneyweddings.go.com/site/gate/index.jsp);

Orlando Visitor Guide interactive maps - Kissimmee (http://www.kissimmee-us192.com/192room_locator/192roomlocator.htm), I-Drive (http://www.orlando-internationaldrive.com/map/index.html) and Lake Buena Vista (http://www.orlando-lakebuenavista.com/map/lakebuenavistamaps.htm). I love these.

I've said it before, but I'm not a huge fan of the list format - I suppose it seems a bit unsophisticated. It's not a big issue, though, and it does make it easy to navigate - a lot of websites have far too many links (and links to links). I like to be able to keep a mental map of where I've been.

The photos are good, particularly those placed alongside the subject matter (such as the Mall at Millenia one). They definitely add something to the experience.

Overall, if all it contained was the updates page, I'd be happy.

Hi Deb. Many thanks for those suggestions - we'll try to take in as many as possible in the next few days.

On the subject of the new H&V character meal, no sooner do I post something than we get some more news - sadly, that the opening of the Breakfast & Beyond meal has been postponed until June. No word as to why, I'm afraid.

well thanks for the update Simon, at least it should still be up and running for our trip in september :love:

Hi Simon

Just a couple of very minor faults.

The 'Orlando Weather' link on the home page doesn't work, although this maybe temporary.

In the drop down list from 'The Parks' it says 'park calendar 2005' The information is for 2006.

Told you they were minor!

Kev

OK, I think we've got all those. Unfortunately, we can't change the bar issue, the '2005 calendar' and a dedicated page for the Busy Day Guide until we move to the new server. But we WILL get there in the end! :teeth:

Any more suggestions always welcome.

Looking forward to checking it out when it moves to the new server :)
