Brit's Guide 2006 - which day which park?

Hi everyone, hoping someone can help me out here.

I'd put together a rough itinerary for our trip in August, based on the busy day guide at the back of this years Brit's Guide (I know it's early but there's a couple of ADR's we want to try for and we can 'phone next month).

Problem is, on reading the book it contradicts the plan I'd drawn up based on the table at the back of the book, by saying don't go to certain parks on certain days because of the EMH (we're not staying on site). For example, Magic Kingdom is listest as a lightest day on a Friday in the busy day guide but then says don't go on a Friday, unless you're staying on site, because of EMH.

Anyone got any suggestions? I really need to know the best (lightest) days of the week for AK, MK & Epcot.

Hope that all makes sense!

Thanks

I think last year, due to the way the EMH's changed there was a change in the way the lightest days worked, maybe Simon hasn't got aound to updating that yet. The best way of looking at it is the best day togo to a park is the day AFTER an EHM if you are not staying on site and using the EMH.

Alternativley, Simon's best days may be making the assumption you are staying onsite.

Hi, it is my first time in Florida in 3 weeks and I have subscribed to Touring Plans. ( can't input the link )

I have found this site great as it tailors plans to your particular group - gives best days to visit/bases plan according to ages or group and even shows where all the hidden mickeys are.

The subscription is about $7 from memory for the year.

I've been to WDW over 10 time and try to use some sort of plan but always sort of doing my own thing. I really feel you can make anything work if you arrive early enough and stay flexible. While I try to follow touring advice (my favorite book is the american the unofficial guide to disney) i sometimes do my own thing. It is definitely better to avoid going to a park on a day that has early opening but if you have to you have to. I think you just lose an hour by staying off premises, and disney frequently lets you in early so get there ahead of time just in case. The only park that is really impossible is the Magic Kingdom. The only other crowds are the popular rides at epcot which run out of fast passes the first hour of opening. A good trick for any of these crowded rides is to go as a single if the members of your group can handle it. Remember though you will be separated.

Thanks for your replies everyone. Touringplans looks great - I've had a look on there and tried to re-hash our plans a bit using that and the Brit's Guide but without going to a park that has EMH that day!

Fortunately, we're early birds so never have too many problems with queues first thing and, having been a few times before, it's not the end of the world if we have to miss a ride or two because the queue is too long.

The main thing was the ADR's but I think I've got it sorted now (fingers crossed!).

Thanks again

Which ADRs are you going for Sarah? (I'm always nosey where food is concerned ;) )

Hi SEVANS2208! Check the Brit's Guide website for the updated Busy Day Guide http://www.askdaisy.net/orlando under Park Updates. Extra Magic Hour was in flux as the book was going to press and we must have missed the contradiction as we were updating right down to our deadline.

The Website always has the most up to date info, as Disney keeps changing their EMH perks. They changed in January, so the info on the website is the most current.

Thanks! :)

MK - Crystal Palace
AK - Rainforest Cafe
Epcot - Le Cellier

All for lunch times.

Only one we haven't done before is Le Cellier, Have to do Crystal Palace & Rainforest cafe as the kids love them!

I just love Le Cellier Sarah. One of my favourite dining spots in WDW, though I've never been for lunch so I would love to know what you think :)
