British isles cruise next June

Has anyone looked into this cruise. It sounds great but there's little info on logistics. For example, I can't tell if an excursion will have to be purchased to get to the various cities. Britain plus Disney would be awesome!

I think they will do a shuttle where the city is close to the docks, ie not Dover as London is an hour away.

To me the weather is a risk June can be OK but July and August would have been better. If you get rain all the time it will spoil that cruise.

It's far too expensive for what it is other cruise lines are far cheaper. People have booked it as it's the first one and not as it cruises at a sensible time.

We cruised the British Isles a year ago (end of July) with Princess. The price difference between what we paid Princess and what Disney wants to charge you would pay for some great shore excursions.

Edinburgh has good public bus transportation, but we spun our wheels trying to find the right bus stop to return to the ship. The castle is a must-see. It would've been nice if we'd gone a week or two later and seen the military tattoo. http://www.edintattoo.co.uk/tickets/

DH did Liverpool on his own (I had a miserable cold and stayed on the ship that day. Hate it when that happens.)

We took a ship-sponsored shore excursion in Dublin. It was nice learning about the city instead of just sitting on a public bus and wondering what all the buildings were. Our tour had the option to visit the Book of Kells, which was a real highlight for us.

The train or bus from LeHavre to Paris takes 2-3 hrs each way. If you take the ship's excursion and you don't get back in time, the ship is supposed to wait for you, or arrange to get you to the next port.

Instead of a shore excursion to Paris, we did a ship-sponsored excursion to the beaches of Normandy -- that was a real learning experience.

Before the cruise we spent three days in Paris, plus two more days in London on our own. (If it had been our first time in London we would have spent even more time there.)

Just to say actually June has been a lot better than July this year. We had rain almost every day in July but June was glorious so to be honest I don't think it makes a difference being that month early. Our summer for the last few years have been so unpredictable that its hard to work out when we are likely to have good weather. Agree though that the country is much better seen in the nice weather.

Like my fellow UK residents, I must say that I find teh date a bit daring. DOn't get me wrong, I am sure te itinerary is nce, but I would recommend it probably for something very aware of what it will be.

- the weather can be anything form very nice (though dn't expect any high temperature for that month) to miserable with lots of rain all time long.
- British cities are a mixed thing for me ; it is full of history but some cities can be pretty ugly and do not have the feel of an Italian riviera city for instance - it can be very rough and industrial, just be aware of that as it is not your typical shore excursion. Countryside is glorious, if you like it.
- I think Britian is oneof those countries that is better visited by road, again as countryside can be absolutely glorious.
- regarding Le Havre, which is Normany, please note that it iwll take you at least 2.5 hours to go to Paris, so I would reocmmend any visitor to find an alternative and keep Paris for a separate visit and make some justice ot the city. Le Havre in itself was totally destroyed during WW2 so don't expect anything pretty. Outside Normandy is absolutely gorgeous though.

Overall I think it is one of those destinations that is probably more adult, and maybe woudl be better replaced by a roadtrip, where you'll have the opportunity to see London, Oxford or Bath, and take some time when in Scotland to see the Highlands and Lochs around.

Well in London it was rubbish until Wimbledon the last week of June, then we could all see it broke and we had a heatwave for the start of July. August well it's 26c today.

In Wales I think we had 2 weeks in June and most days since have been rainy - and in fact today it is now around 24 degrees and sunny but at 8am it was like a monsoon! Go figure

No monsoon here 26c hot sunny just going overcast now.

Our recent Northern Europe cruise had a couple of hot sunny days some rein, some ok ish days. Dover sunny but cool when we left.

IMHO British Isles cruise is too early and has too high a risk of rain , should gave been July or August and do the Med before it gets too hot at 40c.

We live close to Liverpool. The port is right in the city centre with all main attractions walkable. The weather could be lovely, if it isn't there is lots you could still do
