One of the things I agonized over last year was our airfare to Europe for our Disney Magic cruise to Norway. I would have LOVED to have found a sale like the one BA is having now.

Most US Gateways are valid for this sale and if you're an AARP member (anyone can join for just $16) you can save even more (up to $400 per flight).

You can also use Avios (BA's FF currency) to take additional $$ off your flights (if you have some!)

For example, I am taking my niece to Rome next summer and found we could get from LAX to Rome round trip for $1000/pp. That is insane for Business Class!

SFO-LHR is $917pp - etc....there are many great flights/prices to be had and I would hate people to not know about the sale and miss out.

The sale ends tomorrow - so grab a great (and comfortable) flight to Europe for your European cruises!

PS - We flew BA in Premium Economy last summer and paid double these prices. Unbelievable!

Thanks for sharing this great info. That's a great price for business class. We paid that much for regular coach last summer.

And I thought that there were great deals last summer - but this one is the best I've seen. I did join AARP even though I am in my early 40s - just for the BA discount. It is amazing how much that can save you. Plus, we earned a lot of Avios last summer and can use them + cash to bring the prices down even further. I think the lowest I've seen with this sale is $450 pp from LAS-LHR after you stack the AARP and Avios discounts. Amazing!

The AARP website I found states the $400 discount on BA business class wasn't offered for next summer dates. It sounds like it worked for you for your Rome tickets next summer?

The discount works for the summer dates even though it is only advertised as being available through the end of March. I tested different gateways and dates - even with different browsers and the discount still came through for the summer. I wouldn't have thought to check, but I read on another site that the AARP discount was working in the summer and lo and behold - it was.

Thanks for posting about this. Really nice deal especially going through the AARP link.

I don't know how your getting roundtrip prices of $1,000 pp... The best I'm seeing is just over $2,000 pp between any two airports on any dates I have tried, and I've tried dozens. If it seems to be to good to be true... Oh, well... If they were $1,000 I'd jump on them.

On a recent trip from NYC to Paris on United, I paid to upgrade to First Class. Round trip coach was about $1200 and upgraded EWR-CDG segment to First Class fully-reclining seat for $629. I watched daily as upgrades were priced $1400-$3700. At the 24hr checkin, First Class seats were still available and took to offer of $629. It all depends upon availability.

I believe the only way you will get the prices to $1k or below is to use the AARP discount plus AVIOS points. The AARP discount takes about $400 of the price.

That is exactly correct, kaseyC. You need to use the AARP discount + the Avios points to get the prices as low as I did. I am a relative newbie to Avios and even I was able to knock a lot of money off my flights. Even $2k for business is a good deal for peak summer travel. Maybe for East Coasters, this isn't the best you can do, but for those of us out West, these are fantastic fares, even without the AARP and Avios discounts.

We are in the midwest(Chicago) and I booked our flights for our trip next June from Chicago to Barcelona and From Athens to Chicago for about $1500pp with the AARP discount. These are amazing fares especially for Business class. You can barely get economy for less than that unless you go on one of the discount European airlines with crappy times.

Fantastic score for you! Barcelona to Athens sounds like a great cruise itinerary - but I know it's not DCL. What ship are you sailing?

No not DCL, we are trying the new Carnival Vista. The itinerary is great, port intensive and the ship looks amazing. We are taking my in laws (their first trip to Europe). My husband will be returning home with his parents after our post cruise stay in Athens. My 3 DDs and I are spending a week at beach resort in Mykonos.

Where do you input the AARP code? When I try to enter a promotion code it says "Sorry, you can't use promotional codes for these flights."

You have to go through a discount link from AARP site. Just search British Airways on the AARP website and it will provide you with the link.

Business class is $1,600 per person if you don't have buttload of AVIOS points. Good deal.

Thank you so much on the head's up for this! I was able to score a RT business from SFO to Scotland for $2050. What a bargain, considering I typically pay $1300-1700 for coach. So excited! Wish I hadn't bought our tickets for this summer's Europe trip already. I thought about putting the miles back in the account but at $200 per person that hurt.
