Has anyone ever brought the Brita faucet attachment to any of the villas? I was curious as to whether or not it would work. I don't have an owners locker and am flying, so I can't bring a Brita pitcher.

I am posting this to a DVC forum because I want to specifically know about DVC resorts. We are staying at Kidani in March.

TIA!

Yes, we keep a Brita faucet filter in our owners locker. We an usually attach it to our kitchen faucet, but at one villa (sorry can't remember which) we had to attach it to the vanity faucet as it would'nt fit on the kitchen faucet. You may want to take a small pair of pliers in case the faucet tip(whatever it's called) is on too tight to remove with your fingers. Just be sure to use something between the pliers and the faucet so the faucet doesn't get scratched.

I'm going to try it. I imagine it is much less expensive than buying bottled water constantly. Thanks!

Do the Brita filters/pitchers actually do a good job in removing the stench and taste in the FL water? I will only drink the water there if I am really thirsty, and I'm not a picky person.

I would be darn near tempted to put one on the shower head, I almost get nauseous in the shower during drought seasons.

Not to share too much, but I did get more that just nauseous once. I do not recommend showers with FL water when you are hung over......

I'm curious about this, too. We spend a lot on bottled water because the FL water is so bad. I can't imagine a filter taking all that nastiness out of the taste.

I still pack my older version of Brita pitcher on any vacation.. Disney or other.
I do feel it makes a difference in the taste of the water as well as side affects. We still use the FL tap water for teeth brushing, but for coffee and daily water refillls, the Brita has more than paid for itself over the last 8 years... I will continue to pack my Brita pitcher, be it driving or flying...

It definitely takes the nasty taste out of the Florida water. The Brita filter is a life saver for me, as I can't stand the taste/smell of Florida water.

We brought a Brita faucet filter on our last trip. Had to put it on the vanity faucet at AKV @ Kidani as it didn't fit on the kitchen sink. We also had to Hold it together with one hand while holding our cup or water bottle with the other. For some reason, DH just couldn't get it to tighten to the faucet. A couple of times I turned it on without holding it together and got a bath instead of a cup of water :rotfl:

Anyway - it did work as far as getting rid of that nasty chlorine taste and it did save us a ton on buying bottled water!

I flew AND took my pitcher, stuffed with clean socks, in my hard side suitcase.

I think I will do that since we will be staying in Kidani. I can live without fussing with it on the vanity faucet and getting a bath every time I use it. :scared: I have an older Brita which is a bit on the narrow side, so by stuffing it, it really won't take up much room in the suitcase. Thanks!

It could be that we got a bad filter and that's why it didn't fit, but we had bought it months before our trip and couldn't return it afterwards. Dh is very handy around the house, but just could not figure out why the filter would not stay on the faucet.
