Brita Water Bottles A Must! Disgusting Tasting/smelling Water

we bought these 1 qt. bottles at wal-mart that we bring in to the parks. we put our drinks in them, then throw them in the freezer. they stay nice and cold the whole day! or until they run out. we let each kid pick out their fave kool-aid. we don't have to hear , "i'm thirsty" every time we pass a drink stand.

Wow - I couldn't imagine ANY water being worse than WDW water. yikes! And I thought our Arizona water was ick. When I got back home, I downed a big glass of tap water and found for the 1st time our home water to be drinkable.

I did wish I had bought the holders for the Brita bottles so we could carry them around. We ended up putting them in our backpack in a large ziplock bag so they didn't sweat inside our bag. However, for the days we didn't want to take the entire backpack....those water bottle holders would have come in GREAT use.

I bought my Brita Fill 'n Go bottles at WalMart in October. They were in the hardware section strangely enough under the Water Filtration Systems, not in the housewares department. I just got back from Wal-Mart (1-5-05) and looked again and they had them in stock, as well as the replacement filters. The bottles were $6.97 each and the filters were $5.92 for a multi pack.

These little things are a miracle for me. I have a bladder disease and can only drink bottled spring water even at home. I use them all the time now. Great for doggie's water bowl too since we have so much calcium and lime buildup in our water.

I went ahead and bought several packages of the filters at the same time in case they do discontinue!

I also took the advice of another DIS buddy and made the belt clip too. You use a plastic cable tie around the bottle and then hook a carabiner on to it which then attaches to your belt/purse/backpack straps. You can buy a package of 10-20 cable ties for about a buck and a half (for the size you need to go around the bottle) and the carabiners start at about .50 cents. I got my carabiners in the key section at Home Depot and the cable ties there too. That's the cheap way to go, but you can always purchase a bottle strap too!

We got ours at Walmart, they have soccer balls on them. I carried ours in a bag that I kept on top of the stroller. DS has a lanyard to hold his. I didn't notice others using them.

Just could'nt find any in my area. Was on a misson to find them but gave up.Ordered on ebay and I hope they arrive before I leave next friday. :bitelip:

can someone email me the ebay link?

etxgander@hotmail.com

I am going to check our supercenter here in Houston and see if I can find them........but just in case...

would really save the money having them......

Do you have a K - Mart near you ? After I orderd from E bay I found some at my local K-Mart on clearence....Alot cheaper...

nope.....all our Houston area K-Marts were among those that got closed down a year or so ago........

I found a Brita water bottle the other day at our local Walmart in the plumbing/shower section. It was $4.50 and the filter packs were $3.50 (I bought one of these since I read that the water bottle is discontinued). I've looked for them before in Walmart and could never find them - never thought to look in the plumbing section until reading these boards.

Anyone know how we can order them from Australia? :teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

I have tried every walmart, target, kmart, hardware store, linen's & things & no one has them! :sad2:

For those who are desperate and cannot find Brita anywhere, here's another company that has the same kind of filtered bottles.

I bought the filter replacements for a regular bottle of water and brought it to Disney last August and it worked great!

It's a great alternative for those who are having no luck finding Brita.

After reading about the Brita Water Bottles for months on this website, and searching every Wal-Mart in Houston for one...

We found some at CVS, they weren't on sale, but it was well worth it for the quest to be over.

:earsboy:

yea. I found the bottles at CVS but was really miffed that they were on sale everywhere else but they wanted $8 for them?! I figured I would check my local Wal-Mart and K-Mart ONE MORE TIME before I broke down and bought one of those $8 bottles.

BTW...The OP is right. Orlando's water or maybe I should say the water in Kissimmee is HORRIBLE!!! We were going to a Wal-Mart right around a car dealership in Orlando. The Wal-Mart is ALSO down the street from a water plant. I had to roll up ALL of the windows and re-configure the AC. I must have done like 70 driving past that place :teeth: . It smelled like sulfur and feet(for lack of a better scent to descibe it). The water dries out your skin!

Would you give the name of the ebay person you got your brita bottles from?

Thanks! We leave in less than a month!!!
