Bristol Palin on The View~

There's a right and wrong way to deal with that, though. Look at Chelsea Clinton - she didn't do anything to deserve the negative attention and comments she got because of her parents, but she never did anything to court/encourage the media's focus on her either. Bristol Palin wants to have her cake and eat it too - she seems to want the benefits of that quasi-celebrity status but resents/complains about the negative attention that comes with it.

It is always evident that people that go to disney lean to the left.

really:confused3:confused3

I guess you weren't around during the 2008 election season.:rotfl::lmao:

Huh ? I wonder how many women on the dis boards were virgins through high school? Like I said before those without sin cast the first stone.

I'm willing to bet many were not virgins through high school. However, I'm sure most were able to figure out how use the various forms of birth control.

And I'm willing to be once or twice they didn't use b/c or didn't use it properly and got lucky.

Why in the world would you hate or like someone that you don't personally know. Do you see a problem with this? I can't understand why anyone would hate someone they don't know. There seems to be a lot of perfect judgemental people on the dis boards:confused3

Why are you so defensive of a person you don't know? You don't know her true characer. She could be a mean, nasty, girl and here you are defending her. Look at it from the other side. None of us know is she is nice or nasty in real life.

I don't know this girl, nor do I care to. However, everyone is allowed an opinion. If you can belittle people about theirs, then it means yours is fair game too.

I also think that by putting yourself out there on tv you are putting yourself out there to be judged. Especially on a show that is all about judging! It is pretty obvious people were not voting for her based on her dance moves. You can't think it ok to be for her based on things other than dancing, and then say it is not ok to be against her for things other than dancing.

I'm going to put "Best post of the day on 11/24/2010" in my signature. :thumbsup2:laughing:

I get that people loathe Sarah Palin and what she stands for but Bristol is not Sarah. As far as I can tell they are TWO different people. Should everyone be judged so harshly based on who their family is or their last name?

:thumbsup2

Sooooooo true. There have been multiple threads with all sorts of NASTY Bristol related comments.....they certainly seem to be politically motivated. :confused3

Wow nice talk from someone insulting someone elses daughter. How old are your 12? Who is foul mouthed and ill behaved again. If your going to criticize someone you should at least do it a mature way.

Did you happen to read Bristol's facebook comments and her comment about giving people the middle finger"? Who is the foul mouthed and ill behaved one? Just because you comment on someone else's poor behavior doesn't make you ill behaved.

What part of her behavior are you defending?

Sorry but these are exactly the type of girls I DON'T want my sons bringing home!

Didn't you know....no one on the Dis ever had sex before marriage OR used a swear word. We're as pure as the driven snow here.

Oh yeah, I forgot ;)

For someone brand new to dancing she didn't dance horribly.

Jennifer should have done well considering she had a background (albeit limited) in dancing.

Good for Bristol for continuing to improve every week. She should be proud of herself.

Well said. People are acting like this is the first time this has happened. Remember when Sabrina was kicked off? When Donnie Osmon won? When Emmett Smith beat Mario Lopez?? When Kate Gosselin wasn't the first person eliminated?

The comment she made about giving people the finger was completely uncalled for and I'm very surprised that ABC allowed that to be aired. Regardless of my feelings about her or her mother, she did lose a bit of my respect.

The poor girl was trashed by people the entire time she was on this show. And then she received threatening mail that prompted the whole place to be evacuated. Why would we blame her for reacting that way?! If people treated me that badly, I'd feel the exact same way.

And for the record, I did NOT vote for her. I was a Kurt supporter and stopped voting when he was kicked off.

I'm willing to bet many were not virgins through high school. However, I'm sure most were able to figure out how use the various forms of birth control.

We don't know that she didn't use birth control. If using swear words, defending herself and her family when people attack them, and having a baby are the worst things she ever does in life, I think she's in pretty good shape.

Well her only claim to fame is that she is her mother's daughter. So you can't act suprised that they are thought of together. If her last name wasn't Palin, who would give a fig about her? She certainlly wouldn't have gotten on Dancing with the Stars without her mom being who she is.

You have admit that Bristol was was a better dancer than Kate Gosselin. In fact whoever dressed Kate, definately dressed Bristol. They could of won the trophy for worst dance outfits!:rotfl:

On behalf of Bristol, I am breathing a huge sigh of relief....

The only reason JFK Jr. was a celebrity was because he was JFK's son. He was still a massive celebrity. It happens, it's not the end of the world. No need to personally attack people.

This thread isn't very "Dis" like.

You are so right about that.

And isn't it strange that the same people who question Bristol's celebrity status are so obviously fascinated with her? She may not be a Hollywood celeb or a Sports star, but she sure managed to whip the anti-Palin crowd into a frothy-mouthed tizzy. They are obsessed. :rotfl2:

Apparently it is, because on another thread people are having a field day attacking Angelina Jolie for her supposed (not quoted) view on thanksgiving.

And JFK Jr was a good man in his own right. Bristol has yet to prove anything, except she has a lack of manners and a potty mouth. Not traits to stone anyone for, but she hasn't done anything really worthwhile with her life yet. But she has done enough to cause some people to dislike her. And I don't think you have to be "anti-Palin" to find her tirade and mouth appaling.

I thought they were about on par; both wooden, graceless, expressionless.

Can I add whiney????

They both had "poor me" syndrome.

Who I do feel bad for are their partners.....can you imagine when they get that call from the producers?:scared:

It is VERY DIS-like. You're new here I see. I suggest you get used to it.

I feel a lot of empathy for the children of politicians and celebrities. I always felt it was out of line when Chelsea Clinton or the Bush twins were targeted by the press.

However, if any of them had been caught using anti-gay slurs in public once they had reached adulthood that would have made them fair game for criticism as far as I'm concerned.

I'm sure those two girls have learned a hard lesson. I wish them luck.

That's certainly open for debate.

I don't think the things Bristol (or Willow, for that matter) said are any different from what the majority of people their age say. And I stand by the fact that they were attacked first. Plus, if this is simply a comment on the whole facebook thing... I would venture to guess that the other people involved have probably moved on from it a lot quicker than the rest of the nation. It's teenage, high school drama. They were sticking up for their family. It's not like the exchange took place between random strangers.

JFK Jr. was a good man? Yea he was a good man except all the times he would go off on a tirade against reporters asking him questions. Great man indeed!! JFK was a great man also, if you exclude the hundreds of times he cheated on his wife.

The point is he was a celebrity because of who his parents were. This happens all the time. I don't know why people are so shocked the same thing is happening to Bristol.

I suggest some people put on their big boy/girl pants and get over it.

Yes, and we all knew JFK well enough to know that he was a good man.

Just like we know Bristol personally, to know whether she is a nice or naughty girl.

On behalf of Bristol, I am breathing a huge sigh of relief....

Well yes I'm sure that most mothers are hoping their sons bring home a girl who uses anti-gay slurs, has a foul mouth and to boot a girl who got pregnant as a teenager.

I do breathe a sigh of relief that when I spoke to them they all felt her comments just showed her to be classless.

They just told you what you wanted to hear. Then they called their friends to discuss how cool Bristol is. :rotfl2:

And you would know that how?

First of all they are older than Bristol - 27, 26 and 25 so I hardly think they are looking for a little 19 year old. They definitely don't think she's cool! Perhaps because they are college educated (one in law school) and dating women who are definitely un-Bristol like, their experience may be different that yours.

I have to ask - what exactly makes her cool? The potty mouth, the anti-gay slurs, please tell me more!
