Can you bring some of your own food to a wedding reception or dessert party?? My dad would love to bring some stocks cake from Philly and my fiancé Grandmom is the cookie queen. It wouldnt stop us From getting most of the desserts from Disney but it's just a little something we would like from home. Does Disney allow that??

Any food served at a reception venue or a DP on property must be from Disney catering, they do not allow outside food.

Just wanted to add that you could have a cake brought in to a restaurant like if you were having a welcome dinner at Ohana's. A few brides here have had grooms cakes made by a local bakery and delivered to their welcome dinner.

Could you talk a little bit more about this? Is there an extra fee for bringing in a grooms cake? I want to order one from Publix and bring it into our Welcome dinner at 1900 Park Fare.

I didn't do this but several brides have done it. I'm trying to remember what her DIS name is but it's escaping me.

I'm sure if you contact the restaurant and make sure it's ok then you'd be set.

If I recall correctly, my contract stated that there could not be any outside food (vendors) brought in. The exception is wine, with a hefty corkage fee. You can see about using the cookies as favors where they are placed in bags for the guests to take home. That might be your excpetion.

I'm thinking that might be a good idea with the cookies as favors. Maybe as the time gets closer and I get the planner things may be different for home made stuff

I know you can bring your own favors (including candy favors), so maybe if you gave the cookies out as favors? Wrapped up in a cute bag/ container? Since you wouldn't be adding them to the food line, I'm sure there would be no issue.
