Bringing your own float from home

Someone mentioned on this board that they brought their own float from home that they had bought from the dollar store. Then they just left it there and didn't feel bad about leaving it since it was only a $1. My question is, do they have a place to fill it up with air or do you have to use the air in your own lungs? :rotfl: :confused3

We didn't take our own float...but we did see alot of things that people did bring left behind...Floats, pails, shovles, misc toys....there were things left all over the beach.

I think you have to blow your own....didn't see any "air" around but we didn't look either.

Another idea...for one the floats that disney has...don't cost to much...but also...after awhile...you'll find them all over...both the tubes and blue floats.

Thanks for the information. I am still on the fence about bringing my own. I don't think I would leave it because I wouldn't want to leave trash there on CC other than normal cups, paper plates, etc. in the trash can.

I am usually the one that blows up everyones beach toys so I just thought I would ask. :goodvibes

Call me cheap but I always bring my DD one large, very bright pink tube. It is very easy to distinguish in the water thus making it easier for me to keep an eye on DD. At the end of the day, we take it with us. I think I paid .99 for it one year and it has been on the last 3 cruises we've been on.

By the way, DH blows it up :rotfl2:

We visited the $ Store before our trip. Yes, we used our own lungs.

No, we didn't leave it...took the air out and brought it with us home.

We are leaving Saturday on the Magic and have already packed our tubes!

On our last trip one of our floats floated out beyond the swimming barriers and some nice CM's went out on their jet ski to retrieve it for us! What service! Only on Disney!

It is nice to have a float which doesn't look like anyone elses!

We took a $1 float when we went. My dh had to blow it up. It was bright green and very easy to spot. My ds (5 at the time) was very upset that we were leaving it behind.

I'm considering taking our lime green (what other color is there?) noodle and then leaving it there in the trash. I think it will curl around the inside perimeter of the suitcase, but I don't want to take it back to the room when it's wet.
If DD is going to jump off the water fort, she'll need some kind of floating device and the noodle is what she uses at home. She'll straddle that thing and jump into 12 ft. water.....and no air required from my lungs!

will be on the Wonder 12 weeks from now!!!

We have a cheapie lime green raft. We bring it back and forth with us because when it is deflated, it doesn't take up much luggage space. It's distinctive, so no one could steal it very easily, and it's not so big that I get out of breath blowing it up.

We had thought of bringing some noodles for our girls on our last cruise...but didn't get around to it. We thought it would work great for snorkeling with them.

I asked about bringing floats into the snorkeling area the other day. I was told that no floats are allowed in the snorkel area, but you can use it at the family beach and there are a few fish there to look at.

We're bringing our own floats and a small foot pump.

Yea...I don't think so...Our dd was going to try snorkling with the blue CC float..and was told no floats in the snorkling area...so I don't think they'd allow them anyways. Only the cc life floats...which MUST be worn.

We always bring our own little inflatable boat. When we head back to the ship, we ask other nearby parents if they want it. Most people (especially the kids) jump at it. Once, we stayed until the end of the day. We just punctured it for a quick deflating and put it in the trash can. I never really wanted to bring it home. I think it would have smelled and been kind of messy (I guess it depends on the size). Plus, I have a little extra room in my luggage for new purchases! :)
