Bringing The Magic Home - 8/20/05

Yikes! This was posted over on the forum side under the "what didn't you like about your cruise".

I disliked that several of the sea days (we were on the West Coast Cruise) were too cool to lay out by the pool...we were wearing sweats all day. I'm hoping that on our Nov 2006 Eastern Caribbean cruise, the weather will be consistently warm.

oh oh I hadn't planned on packing sweats or even anything warmish (except for pants for the boys for dinner and a couple of capris for me) Are you all packing warm stuff? I will need to go out and buy yet another suitcase!! :sad2:

Yes, I'm planning on one pair of sweatpants and a zip up sweatshirt. Bill is bringing a jacket instead of a sweatshirt. He hasn't mentioned pants, but usually wears shorts even when I think it's too cold. It may only be cool for us for one day, because then we'll be in Cabo for a day. May be cool after Cabo until we arrive in Acapulco.

I don't think we should have as cold weather for our cruise (I hope not - just bring one pair of pants & some capris for dinner).

Once we get past Cabo --we are definitely in warmer water....

I have mentioned this before. It can get cool at night, especialy on or near the water. A few weeks ago it was over 100 where I live (about 20 miles from the ocean) and it never got below 75 at night. Those same days, it never got above 75 during the day at the beaches. We had temps ranging from low 70s to 110 depending where you were.

Some nights it doesn't cool down and it will still be in the 90s at 7 or 8 at night, 2 nights later it can be 70 or lower. Even in August. Now I am going on info from here in So Cal. I do not know what it is like in Mexico. I plan on bringing at least one pair of warm pants (not light weight pants, but more like jeans, or something) and a sweatshirt jacket for each of us. If it's cold 2 days then we will wear the pants 2 days. I think once we get down near Acapulco we should be fine.

Also for those going to DL, the same info holds true. Usually in August more likely that not it will still be hot after the sun goes down. However there are times when the sun sets, and it starts to get cold. Especially if you're just sitting around waiting for a parade, fireworks or fantasmic to start.

Thanks Donna for the info! :goodvibes
We are in DL a few days before and since I am always the one that's cold I think I had better throw in some pants for myself. The packing goes on and on and on... :teeth:

It especially gets cold when you are just standing around :chat: :hyper2: :chat: :hyper2:

I don't know anyone who would do that :confused3
It can also get kind of cold if you end up at 4 bars and only manage to drink bbq sauce :rolleyes1

Can't wait to see you guys again!

I saw a new Disney movie coming out on August 19th. I can't remember the name of it though.

So far I'm hoping to see Herbie and Sky High. My kids keep asking if we can go see it and since they don't know about the cruise I keep telling them maybe later.

Hi Deb....It's called Valient and it should "Premear" during our cruise. We've seen Lilo & Stitch and Miracle as Premears on both our DCL cruises.

Michelle

Renee....we received our nametags yesterday too. Thank you so much they are great and we appreciate your generousity.

Michelle

Renee Thank you, thank you!! We got our namestags today and now feel part of the group and that it is really only a few weeks away. These were as exciting as docs which we have not received yet!

Dairyou,
Roseville gets everything first !!! I love Wholefoods, spent $65 there on gfcf stuff and had a yummy lunch.

I bought some cute yoga pants and sweatshirts a couple months ago and haven't had a chance to wear them...now I have an excuse to bring them along...also an excuse to buy some shoes to go with !!!

No docs for us yet...

Finally, DH called earlier today, he is supposed to be here Thursday...I am leaving Tuesday for Las Vegas...that didn't go over big, but he told me I could go when we talked about it a couple weeks ago. I've been dying to see the Liberace museum...and watch the Blackjack players ever since I read "Bring Down the House".

DH called DCL today and they told him that our docs were printed today and should be received by our TA next week. Is this a standard answer? Would we have gotten the same answer if he had called yesterday or the day before? I hope it's true! I am anxiously awaiting them!

I am one of those folks that get cold in the movie theather so I am packing a pair of comfy pants and taking the jacket with me on the plane.

:cat:

I'm a sweater person. So I had already planned on bringing a short sleeved one with sequins for dinner. Now I think I'll bring the heavier one. I hope it isn't too chilly in DL at night. Phil wants to stay til the place closes. I will have fallen asleep right there.
Made my dangling things for my pirate costume this afternoon at the day care. One of the women who works there makes jewelry and she gave me a bunch of beads that she can't get any more of so that part is done. Now just need to finish the top and I'm set.
We were going to do a practice pack on Saturday but our middle daughter just borrowed her Dads' garment bag so we have to put it off until Sunday. Just know I am not going to enjoy this. So many things so little weight.
