No, you cannot just show up at the port and book a space on the ship. There used to be a 48 hour minimum advance purchase, but that might have increased with the terrorism stuff. The bottom line is a security "name check," and processing documents.

I've officially started my personal "countdown" of things I have to accomplish before we leave. Yesterday, I chaperoned our church youth group on a trip. for some reason, I just felt that until that was out of the way, I couldn't move into DCL mode.

Today, it is get hair colored (don't tell DD I posted this--"Mom, did you REALLY have to tell them that you dye your hair?!?!?" Next week, one family group coming, and the list goes on. Still, despite too many things to do and too little time, it feels really good to be starting to get ready.

Who cares if we're a boring thread. We're a rowdy cruising bunch for sure!

As for Acapulco...maybe we're leaving early to fit in another port ? Hope, hope, at this late date...even if they added Puerto Quetzal back...could they add a port now ? Didn't we get about $50 refunded because we lost a port ?

I called DCL today about my High Tea ressie, I made them online in May but lost them sometime in June. I spoke to a ressie specialist who told me I would get High Tea sometime but they didn't know when. DCL has been having problems with their internet sites, no kidding.

While I had the CM on the phone I asked her about a refund she said no refunds for the port fees. When we booked PQ was part of the itinerary. So what's the deal with this, do we or don't we?

BTW, I saw a new excursion being offered this morning for Cabo San Lucas, Power Boat Snorkeling.

Agreed! With both! I actually started planning my hair cuts in January. I have a short cut and get it cut every 4 weeks. I adjusted the schedule in January because I was one week off so I went 5 weeks then. I'll get it cut tonight then again on the 16th! Doing a lot to get ready this weekend (finally got a free one!).

Just a heads up to anyone with Palo brunch scheduled for August 29th or September 1st (could be other days, those are just the ones I had scheduled). I received a call from Disney today informing me that they had oversold those days and offered to reschedule me on any of 4 other days. In my case we have 4 adults and I was originally only able to book online one day for a table of 4 and the other day was a table for 2. The brunch day for 4 was the same day as our dinner (only choices I had when booking online) so this change worked out better for me because she was able to get us a table for 4 on a day I originally wanted but was unavailable online.

Sounds like the new online system may have flaws!

Tracy - I got the feeling that if I had been insistent DCL would have gone on to the next person to try to get them to change, but as I said it worked out better for me. I have the rep who is making all the changes for these dates and her phone number, PM me if you want me to send it to you.

Okay - no call from DCL on my 9/1 brunch at 11:30.
Now I will check the DCL site to make sure mine is okay ...sheesh.

Benita & I have planned our last haircut for 8/10 or 8/12 -- since we are leaving on the 17th for DL (WAHOO ) Hair dying that weekend (okay - I'm going to admit it). We even have our manicures & pedicures planned out too -- but that schedule is a little harder to do. Full mani & pedi on 8/11 & then a touch up on 8/16 before we fly out

Another fool got their DOC's (in Canada). And I am not to worried about us not being rowdy enough - DCL will REMEMBER THE FOOLS (kinda like remember the titans ) I've met with fools in Canada & then at the Dis Meet in Allentown (Which was fantastic). Trust me -- the whole room at the meet knew the fools were in town (incl. Melinda, Mark & Sanda, Marsha etc.)

The thread is quieter here since we are posting on the moderated board.

I got my "Repo THAT" t-shirts today. They are really cute. It is just making it seem like I am one step closer to going. I also moved my suitcases into my bedroom so I can start throwing things in them that I have been hoarding in my closet for about hmmmmmm, A YEAR!!!!! However, my puppies and cats keep insisting on packing themselves in them.

We are printing our own - Repo That shirts -- did two prints on white fuseable transfers - now debating buying the transparent instead.


Everytime I pull out a suitcase -- in jumps a cat. If Fagan decides to stowaway - I'll be charged for an overweight suitcase Plus DCL would prob. charge for his food too !.

Same here.
I have so many things in that huge suitcase and bags in my attic, but still no clothes yet. Something has to go, otherwise I'll never manage.
As for the repo design I down loaded it and I'm going to transfer it onto my DD8 Disney Cruise Line T-shirt that she got on our last cruise 2004. It still looks brand new.

Just received our embroidered Survivor t-shirts today and they are cool! I like the hats the best.

I found some pirate items at party city and party depot today. They aren't exactly what I was looking for, but I am having a hard time finding ANY pirate stuff.


I will go check on my Palo's ressie. I hope everything is still intact.
