Good evening everyone - Just had to share some good news at our home. DS took his driving test today (for the first time) and PASSED!!! Such a relief because he is not going on the cruise and can now drive himself to school; no bus available because it is a charter high school. Whoo - hoo, one last thing to worry about. Now I can just worry about him being on the road with all the elderly and tourists! Ahhh, the beauty of living in South FL.

You know Roxann when I posted that I looked at it twice and I thought it looked funny. I guess we've had to many staterooms on deck 2, I automatically put that 2 first. Thanks for correcting me we are in 5020.
Roxann have we cruised with you before, it would have been for halloween?

We have never been on a Halloween cruise. Sounds like fun though!

Congrats to your son. Our daughter Joy has got received her provisional driving licence and will start lessons soon. Here on the Isle of Man, we can drive and take a test at 16 (it's 17 in the rest of UK) and I can't wait for her to become mobile. As you say, it gives them independence. And Allan and I can go on holiday on our own and know she can get herself to and from college!!! Saves on cattery fees, bus fares, my 'taxi' time - it's a winner all ways round!

Ok Deb we are right there with you. It's become a routine: wake up, make tea, check for room #. Thinking 30 days out it would be there today for sure. No such luck. Hope we get an upgrade.!

One of the FOols in the UK got thier docs today!!!!!! Now we can all be hounding our TAs and our postal people as to where ours are.

Well -- I called my TA today -- so they could put on the ressie info to have the room steward split the beds -- to the twins. I tried to ask causally if they had received any DOC's for our cruise and was told not to 2.5 weeks out (ARGHH).... I did let them a fool in the UK got theirs already.

Nope. They are smart enough to do it ahead of time! If not, I will just ask the cabin attendant to do it after we board. It's the small things like this that I don't think about at all.

I am sure that this is buried in here somewhere, but does anyone have a handle on how boarding will go at the LA Port. We are used to the procedure and the timing out of Canaveral. Since we were not able to book anything on-line, I want to make sure that we can make whatever ressies we want on board.

From what I have read, boarding is done in groups of 100. First come, first served, you are given a card with a number on it; 1,2,3 etc. When they call your number, everyone in that group boards. So the earlier you can get in line, the better thaqt would be for boarding. The port does not open as early as Port Canaveral either. Check the regular cruise thread for people reporting from the west coast sailings for the best info.
